I think these patch wishlist threads should be dedicated to minor changes like bugfixes and rebalancing. Asking for stuff like cadet dynasties (which I really want) in a patch just seems presumptuous. As awesome as it is, it's a major overhaul of the game, and doesn't really fit the bill of "patch." Granted, Paradox is releasing lots of content with patches, but only when those patches come with DLC.

I agree with brxbrx too many of these wishlists are ridiculous dreams of things that are just not going to happen in a non paid for patch. Patches are to FIX things that are bugged or broken in the already existing game code not to REWRITE the gamecode to suit a handful of min/maxers who want everything in every game they play.

At any rate these wishlist threads aren't really harmful they just help to give that "I'm important" feeling to those that are never satisfied with the game(s) as they are. Keep up the good work Paradox CKII is an excellent game as it is. ;)

Good lord no. No offense, but this is quite literally a terrible idea for numerous reasons. Personally I also quite like Francia, though I do dislike its confusing formation criteria.

This is a matter of opinion, but would you mind explaining your sentiment, please? If a Medieval king had united the British isles and started calling himself Rex Britannicorum in Latin, we would likely be referring to his realm as the British Empire. I think that the fact that that name was used later in history is a point in favor of its plausibility; does it strike you instead as anachronistic?

The title Rex Franciæ did originate during this period at around the same time France unified the territory designated de jure Francia, so it would be the least anachronistic. The emperors were at the time often called Rex Romanorum and Rex Græcorum in Latin. So I could likewise see an ahistorical title such as Rex Britanniæ or Rex Britannicorum. Or you could go backwards to Rex Francorum, and the prestige of the Carolingian empire. But it’s jarring to me to see titles that mix languages; surely it should be Rex Franciæ, Empereur des Français or Emperor of France, all of which were titles some French monarch has used, not Emperor of Francia.

...zlatky, I dont really agree with you on any points tbh. The changes you want will make the game severely easy.

I'd say the wishes I posted earlier would, actually, rationalize the game tbh. Besides, you can always change the difficulty level when you start a new game to be more challenging, etc.! :)

One, extra, cool feature would be to have a "Hall of Fame" included in the game that would keep track of our, say, top-10 final scores (upon reaching 1453 A.D. and/or upon resigning a specific campaign).

But Paradox add new features in patch. A new battle system? Yes! Free duchy revocation for the ERE? Of course! For some exambles. This is part of thenew politice of paradox. Give new features with the patch in combination with a DLC. But the most features are in the patch, not in the DLC.

Unlike getting the "I'm important " feeling by disagreeing with people?

Make all the Armenian characters Miaphysite rather than Orthodox. It doesn't make sense to bother adding that religion only to then not give it to one of the main cultures which historically practiced it.

Naval Warfare-While not the chosen method of combat by feudal lords, at least two important battles Malta and Sluys critically changed history. The Republics are awkward without their little boats, Venice would be curbstompted by the HRE!
Dynasty Score Charts-
Add more dynasties, and create a separate Muslim and Republic one, so we can compare our top scores not to the Capets.
Palaces-Proper Emperor and King ranked characters deserve a special holding tailored to their status, that passes to the new emperor in a seamless fashion thus not screwing up the HRE.
basically a barony equivalent in status in the HRE in some random province where they held council a lot. And for the ERE, Constantinople, just turn the capital holding of the Emperor into it. The Palace should help with your retinue, generate some special bonus income, and represent a great ruler's assets. To build a palace you must be an emperor or own 5 kingdom titles and it should cost 1200 gold. That is the price of style.

@ pieGEEK: a specific non-dynastic* imperial and royal holding IMHO sounds very interesting. (*=if I understood correctly it should pass to the titleholder and not necessarily the same dynasty).

If I bought "Sunset Invasion DLC" and i havn't toggle it on, please dont spam me in main menu with info "New content is ready to buy!" I know it, I have it and I dont want it now.

It is just annoying detail ;)

It would be better if all DLCs were able to be toggled on/off in country selection board. It could be easy done by for instance clicking these small icons in the left-down corner (colour/gray or normal/crossed variants)

Tons of small changes that wouldn't be overly much work:

- Fix the search character list for the whole world. Selecting "ruler" isn't doing anything there.
- Generally more search options in the search character list (traits, age, ...)
- Finally fix the de jure drift mechanism:
- Kingdoms should be able to drift into an empire regardless if they are created or not
- Drifted kingdoms in one game shouldn't remain in that empire in subsequent games (e.g. Poland drifts into HRE)
- Shortcuts for embark/disembark
- "Embark all" button to put all selected levies in a boat
- Make Muslim 2nd, 3rd, 4th wives go to a newly appointed count's county. ATM they stay at their old court.

Game is really great and best of all strategies, BUT:

1. Fix the muslim invasions - now its impossible to help other christian country when its under invasion (for example from Fatimids) unless you are allied with them - thats absurd and help in defending should be available for everyone (from the same religion at least). IN my last game Croatian Kingdom was defending against normall attack from some of fatimids dukes. The christian coalition was created (including my duchy) to counter these attacks and all was going on the right direction and then suddenly the very Fatimid caliph delcared an invasion. Result? Croatia counquered in less than 1 year, because no one could help them (fatimids siezed castles and cities, while christian armies were stationing in the same county - absurd...)
2. Not every prisoner should automatically agree to convertion to your religion - maybe those with zelouss or chaste trait should not agree?
3. Empires and Sultanates are way too strong and stable. There should be another opinion penalty depending on how far vassal dukes kingdoms and counties are from your capital (if ur their liege), and also crown authority should be way more difficult to change (into higher). I really would delete all de jure realms for empires - its just too strong bonus for them (Byzanitnes automatically sieze Italy). Also, if Empire would lose a land (someone becomes independent) the emperor shouldnt have a claim for it, otherwise he recounquer all those independent realms within 10 years - absurd.
4. Byzantinies should be totally nerfed - i mean come on its so ahistoricall - from XI to XV they usually had a lot weaker armies than other neighbours, rather depending on diplomacy, strategic position of their capital and mercenaries. In CKII they quickly eat half of the map with HUUUUGE armies - another absurd. Empire title should give more penalties to opinion of vassals, give lesser levies. More civil wars inside ERE, more independence wars (even without factions), weaker armies, higher costs of maintaining those armies and mercenaries - thats my proposals for nerfing the immortal ERE.
5. Also HRE should be nerfed a lot - here it should be something done to election system - it should allow CA at medium MAX (pls i dont want to see medieval absolute electoral HRE with 5845623753275 k armies), also more difficult to change to higher CA, lesser levies, more interaction between POPE - HRE - they should fighting like 2 mad cats, a lot of excomunication, anti - Emperor title (anti Emperor should be picked in 99% cases from HRE realm, but once in a while from outside of the realm)
6. Also i would consider something like "Only Titular Vassalisation" - i mean in cases where some county, duchy, kingdom is a vassal only on paper, but in reality it can behave like independent one. Something even lover than autonomius vassals. This kind of "Titular Vassal" (im quite bad at english so i hope u understand what im saying) would make more independent decisions than aautonomius vassal, BUT it would be a lot more vulnerable other countries could start a war against HIM not his liege to gain his lands, but liege could normally join the war if he would like to do so or if he would be asked by this titular liege.
7. Armies that travel on ships should loose soldiers each week (for example from 1 - 10 %) - it would be realistic and would nerf the overpowered strategy of quickly moving armies (by sea). Also armies should spend more time to get on the ships (i mean one day to get on board? its way too short). Attacks from sea should have more penalty, and i would also add some random events - for example storms that destroy part of your ships/forces or kickes part of the fleet to other sea areas, lands (it hapenned often during medieval times) or some random interactions (events) when two opposite fleets stay on one sea area (not battle but some minor encounters?)
8. Option to join faction after it started a war against its liege - for example when some leauge start an independence war, there should be an option to join it even if some vassal stayed on liege's side.
9. Also Fatimids and Seljucks should me more hostile against each other - historically they were most deadly foes, and each other's ambitions was to rule bagdad and whole muslim world, so Fatimid invasion of greece is really really strange.
10. Fatimids, on the start 1066 are too overpowered. They should have a lot higher decadence and have much lower CA.
11. Last one is just a humble suggestion for far far future - those countries and dnasties / nationalities that are historically nomadic people should have totally different mechanics of game. Nowadays PEchengs and Cumans, Oghus tribes also have armies that consist mostly of infantry, have dynasties, have economics based on farming and taxes, armies based on their holdings and castles - everything is totally wrong. The thing is that they should have some tribe / clan - based political system with open succesion (the strongest takes all, not some Agnatic Gavelkind ??), or with some other historicall types of successions (Mongol type succesion for example). Alsoo, size of their armies should depend from the size of their tribes and cattles - not from the castles in counties they control (they didnt live in cities or castles so..). Right now its hard for me to think how it would be pissible to create something like that so like i said, its just a suggestion for the future plans. Nomadic tribes changed the history of eastern, south, and mid east Europe in a great way so in my opinion it should be also included in CKII (together with muslim DLC, republic DLC, LOR DLC). For nomadic people there should be new casius beli - raid - which would give no lands if won, but big amount of prestige, prisoners, cattles, money. "Vassal" opinion of their "Liege" (Khan Kagan or Chief would be bettter) should depend on wheter he wins or loses battles, how many succesfull campagins he did, how much does he obey tribe's religion and law (another thing to create. There should be also option of converting to other religions at some point of the game. Army should consist especially horse archers, lesser infantry and heavy cavalry (mostly from vassals, cities, holdings that are not nomadic).

What if the DLC modified the map or the history files? Wouldn’t this force a reload anyway?

All great points. If I might make a suggestion: add a few, ideally moddable, presets such as good alliances, good breeding (E.g., Genius might be worth seven points, Strong four, Quick three, Attractive two), or good overall skills. It could then sort the list of available brides/grooms accordingly.
