I would like to see more succession laws. The five in the game are not representative of all of Europe. For instance, parts of Scotland and Ireland used a unique from of inheritance called Tanistry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanistry. With most of the main features pretty set, I would like to start seeing more little details included in the game.

Yes, give us more localised specialisation. You've got the core mechanics pretty well figured out now flesh it out some more.

More succession laws would be a good thing. Especially Rota (for Rus'), Ultimogeniture (for Mongols), and Tanistry (for Scotland and Ireland). Also making them moddable would be awesome, since this would make it possible for modders to model other parts of the world more correctly.

I really want to Absolute CA to mean I can stop any war within my realm. If I am going to accept that malus at least allow me to do something with the power I would wield. Also it would allow me to arrange all marriages of import within the kingdom/empire, being all Dukes and their heirs.

I do not see why absolute authority should enable you to arrange marriages for your vassals, you are not part of their clan so who they marry is none of your business.

Fear. Ruthlessness and fear needs to play a role. As it stands there are no positive modifiers for being a ruthless bastard and you only really stand to gain by having as many good traits as possible and not offending any of your vassals. If I execute a rebellious count I not only want the negative modifier of having killed close kin but I also want the son of the traitor and pretty much everyone else to give rebellion a second thought in the future. Give me more tools to punish bad behavior, nuanced tools.

I'm puzzled that no one has mentioned the ridiculous numbers of courtiers without jobs or purposes.

I understand courtiers are there to make trouble, but historically they had more uses.

Perhaps being able to assign particularly loyal or martially minded courtiers as family bodyguards to prevent assassinations of your children and wives? This would of course entail a hefty monthly fee...

Currently, you can assign children to a martial tudor. I think this should bestow a title of "Page" at young age, "Squire" at say 12, and "Sir" (or it's ethnic equavalent) upon majority. This of course wouldn't be the case of royalty, whose titles are already greater in value. But it would be nice to have this option for the child of my third cousin who has been hanging around my court.

Speaking of that, how about assigning bannermen, personal men-at-arms/retinues, for your commanders. This could be worked into the character cards; up to four characters can protect your character in battle. This of course means extra protection for him, however, you risk losing your more powerful and trusted courtiers. Of course, this can work in the opposite favor - assign a treacherous family member or courtier to your personal retinue and something bad might happen...

Ladies -in-waiting might be nice for your queen/wife, as I find that I have an abundance of single female courtiers, especially after I loose a good deal of my men in battle. I marry off as many of them as I can, but they seem to flock in as quickly as the vacancies open.

I don't want to completely eliminate the idle, problematic courtiers, but I do want to see more uses for them.

With all that in mind, more honorary titles would be nice. Especially more culturally specific ones.

I think Edessa should be a part of the Kingdom of Jerusalem (Baudouin I. was the former ruler of Edessa and his cousin Baudouin de Rethel his vassal).

From 1229 to 1244 (?) I think, Emperor Friedrich II. von Hohenstaufen was able to get the control of Jerusalem - I cannot see this in the game.

I think a King should have the right of selecting a lover and additionally an opportunity to produce bastards.

Last I think a King with high or absolute crown authority should be able to invite every of his subjects to his court (everyone in his realm but not members of a ruling family). An invitation of a king is not a invitation but an order - and subjects must obey an order.

Iceland an Independent republic until 1262 would be an important historical error fixed... Though of course make it de jure Norway as Norway did try to conquer Iceland before in the 1220's...

Iceland is indpendent in the game until 1264, though it is not a republic. Instead it has Haukadalurætten as dukes, which to me does not make any sense. Isn't that just a random noble family with no higher status than the others?

I'd like mercenaries to convert and/or change their hiring restrictions when the religious landscape changes. I mean it's fine the orthodox guys have their own exclusive merc gangs, but when said gangs remain the only orthodox people on earth patriarch notwithstanding, they aren't gonna starve out religion or not, no?

Since all have a "capital" attached, it could be tied to its state. If a capital gets converted to another religion, merc leader gets a choice to convert or move out. First case, either parent_religion is changed or hire_trigger religion condition is removed or moved up the religion tree to allow competing branches. Second case, capital is relocated to the nearest province of proper religion. If religion is dead and there is nowhere to move, the company either converts or disbands.

Same could be used for culture, the varangian guard must feel awfully lonely being the only swedes in the cruel danish world ;)

Agreed. The walls of Constantinople were knocked down by German cannons, for example.
