The change log for 1.08 is up now, so we may as well start posting our wide-eyed dreams for the next patch! :)

I'd like to see a better balancing of crown authority. Right now, there's little advantage to putting up with the grief of staying at absolute authority. I'd also like to see a non-feudal Byzantine empire with provincial governors/generals instead of landed feudal lords everywhere. I'm not sure how that could be done (special Byzantine rule putting feudal lords on republican succession except for the emperor, perhaps?) I can dream!

This is too damn early and almost disrespectful. You should at least wait until they release 1.08.

Why? We already know what is and isn't in 1.08. If we want to continue wishing for things, it's of little use to do it in the 1.08 wish thread because the content of 1.08 has been finalized at this point.

Cadet branches, translatio imperii before RE is restored, naval battles and revamp of current naval levies (adding naval retinues tied to technology).

Also, there should be no more 'no attrition' doomstacks, at least make it so they get 2x or 3x attrition cap, but no more, it is too OP as it is now...

I'd also like to see a "Popularity" stat which would be the Christian version of decadence and would gauge a monarch's popularity among the people. Things like low taxes and certain choices in events (like the no-money option from the marriage celebration event) would raise popularity, while the reverse would lower it. Popularity could be used to determine how likely it is that peasants join up with faction rebellions and such. Peasant support for rebels seems to be a little random and senseless right now. It would add a lot of strategy to demesne laws which currently don't have much of a drawback for taking max taxes/levies from vassals and such.

Better and more interesting HRE and Papacy, starting with coronations and cardinals. It should be hard to become emperor or pope. Also, recreation of the roman empire as a catholic.

And better retinue balancing--Byzantines and Turkic/Persian ones are waaaay better than the rest.

I think these patch wishlist threads should be dedicated to minor changes like bugfixes and rebalancing. Asking for stuff like cadet dynasties (which I really want) in a patch just seems presumptuous. As awesome as it is, it's a major overhaul of the game, and doesn't really fit the bill of "patch." Granted, Paradox is releasing lots of content with patches, but only when those patches come with DLC.

Granted, Paradox is releasing lots of content with patches, but only when those patches come with DLC.

1.09 will come with DLC anyway, that how their system works. That's why asking for major changes is ok. That's not a wishlist for 1.08b ;)

A lot of major game changes have come from patches though. CK2 didn't have de jure drifting at launch. That entire feature came in a patch and it was a big deal too.

Dukes not starting independence factions when they're at +99 opinion.

1.08 will stop vassals from joining independence factions if they're the same culture and religion as you are, I think.

I dare say it's the other way around. Bug fixes and simpler suggestions e.g title-holders should be suggested in the bug report forum whilst absurd wishes, like Cadet Branches, should be suggested in wishlists and in several times by different posters it would seem. Wishlist are very positive, but can get a bit repetitive at times.

I think PI know, by now, that Cadet branches, playable pagans, theocracies and republics are wished for. No need to repeat it if you don't necessarily want to spam.

If a lord enters a war then some of his vassals should be ready to raise their personal levies and join the lord if they like him enough/their own land is threaten/they can see an advantage.

If the lord declare a war of conquest, some vassals join him and they win. Then the vassals should get land depending on claims, crown authority and how much they did.*
*As an example a king with low CA declare a war. One of his vassals also have claim on parts of the land and so he joins the war. Then the land taken by the vassale should become part of the vassales domain. If CA was higher then the lord would get a screen at the end of the war showing how much each vassale have contributed and then the lord can decide who he will give give land to.

Let familie build ties. If I grand lord basilikum land and dies. Then the next generation will start with a bonus like: Small Ties +5 relation. Give land to the next generation and the bo us increase to +10 and so on. If you don't give them anything though the bonus disappear at double rate.

If the next patch delivers as promised, the game will be in a preety sweet spot as far as I care. I have a feeling factions may still need some tweaking even after the patch, but we'll see. Besides that Id like some changes in dealing with criminals, like being able to kill lowborn and landless murderes without penalties and the posibility of further interaction with prisioners, like convincing them to defect to your court or take over the education of children captives.

Besides that, I just hope the features included with the new dlc wont be so buggy :)

Edit: id also like some work being thrown into friends, like some flavour events where you'd visit their court or vice-versa, or if you help your friend ina war and both your armies meet in the same place, you get an event where you chat for extra relation point, little things like that to enhance RP. Also id like to see historical friendship between families being represented, example: house Salian and mine have been watching each-others back for 5 generations of kings, we've always been allies, dozens of marriages between houses, but then we both had the unfortunate luck of DOW on the same puny duke (faction war on his part, de jure claim on mine) and suddenly we're hostile and literal centuries of friendship are ruined just like that. There should be an option to solve things amicably me thinks
