The event that grants it a shupyard only triggers if it does NOT own Ragusa.

However, if it were to capture Ragusa after this event fires, it would then get a second.

It's an ai event.

I think I''ll change the date on it to 1500.

made a few runs post reformation with poland and genoa +chimu. in ALL cases the alternative has not triggered(having the alt ref. ON) in ANY form. i had the historical refomration in all cases(luther never came to throne).pope existed as well.
doubt that ai took option "b"'s in all cases...

It doesn't need to.

Here's how it works.

For each event, the ai gets 2-3 options. Each one is classed as Conservative, Moderate or Reform. The choice has a series of effects AND determines which version of the next event the Pope will get. If it chooses a conservative option, then the version of the next event will be the one where action_a is conservative. Hence, each choice tends mathematically to keep the papacy on a certain course. If suddenly the ai choose action_c (about 4% chance) then it heads off in this new direction.

As it gets closer to the critical point, the choices start to narrow to just 2: conservative or reform. And near the end choosing conservative options ends the whole affair.

In addition, other events con forestall the alternative agenda, such as the existence of Hussite Bohemia. If they are around, it cannot happen. So, it's more complicated than any other event sequence.

Which is not to say there isn't a bug. There may well be.

Now fixed, sort of. the assassination now gives a -4 hit (which, maybe, is mild for the assassination of a monarch) and choosing Tapio of Finland (a key suspect) gives another -1). Ah, intrigue and murder, never great for stability.

recent small mp with the latest update, al andalus cot still dissipear in 1440's upon a reload even if none of the condition to do were met...

here is a case where the rules of the eu2 engine definately not designed to uphold certain commands or maybe "set flag"?( since it only happens in mp).

if u think u have found the reason why and adjusted give me a shot on messanger while having a 1440's save, so we can be sure this time it works, before assuming it does.

you mean event retuned it, but that does not leave out the fact that this problem still happens= it has not been fixed but rather improvised.
and based on that outcome this issue can hamper further modding improvements.
need to know WHY this al andalus mp thingy (and not only) happens...

Yes of course it's still a problem but it's kinda weird for an event to trigger not soon after to give it back.

In the latest 1.08 I added an event that gives AlAndalus a CoT if it does not have one. deliberate to replace the one the game keeps killing.

It is a most bizarre bug in the engine, that is perhaps linked to how the engine calculates whether a CoT is sufficiently active, or not.

THAT makes sense with something else i noticed: this is the cot with the highest merchant rejection in europe until 1500's(sp play);)

would be intreasting if ai gets ANY benefits from it. in short if the cot REALY "exists" in practical terms;)

perhaps you could post your findings on the AGCEEP site in relation to the Source Code Team and their work. Perhaps they could look into it and why, for example, even for the owner of the CoT in Guantanamo (the Maya) the cost for placing a merchant is so inceredibly high. Both things need to be 'fixed'.

We actually reduced the number by 1 a few builds ago, and the CoT in Al-Andalus has been part of the mod since inception, so that option seems unlikely, as it would have shown up before now.

The CoTs are:

Liguria
Mecklenburg
Bugogne
Toledo
Novgorod
Constantinople
Flandern

Then there's Baghdad, which is in Europe, too.
