I noticed that several children, being born over some years, get the same firstname... Both boys and girls, and no one of them are bastars....

Well, first of all, I didnt know I should support all this for you...
Secondly, I thought that this was just a place to report major bugs - and in my eyes, this is such one!
It is a 1.07 game I started in 1071... After a year or so, I noticed my brother had a son, then 3 years later had another son, and they were both named exactly the same...
I thought it was a strange cooincedence, but then I looked around the map, and saw many with two kids of some gender, who had the exact same first name!
If this is a standard 1.07, then it's a bit sad...
I dont know how to post savegames, and screenshots cant really show much... But let me know what to provide...
The Screenshots, savegames and replication are not for me, it is for the developers. So they can also duplicate the problem and as such find a way to fix it.
Also I checked my current game - 20+ years gameplay - and I searched over 100 rulers, and I found 2 with duplicate named children. I do not know if you have more because of something else, but it is not really unheard of for people to name their children the same. But thats for the devs to decide not me.
I have just NEVER seen it before... Not even once...

Cause I dont know if this is a new issue, or an excisting one - I have just never seen it before...

What are you talking about? I am complaining about how the AI seems to have this bug, where they name their kids the same!
I have no influence over that, not even if it is my own grandkids...
I had hoped that there perhaps was an easy way of fixing this, if a small bit of code was missing somewhere, telling that if a sibling already has the name, then the newborn cant get it...?
Well even in real history with rulers that had a lot of children there were same named children. Still they usually were from different mothers even if they weren't bastards.
I think such a bit of code should be present. Sometimes, I see same-sex twins with the same name. Weird.
There's a chance (defined by culture) that children will be named for parent or grandparent, otherwise the name is pulled at random from the names defined in the relevant culture file. Some cultures have a large chance to have children named for a grandparent or parent; this is probably causing most of the duplicates.
