I've mentioned this before (with a different patch) and now come across the same problem.


1. I'm playing the ruler and have a 30 year old heir betrothed to a princess. She has reached 16 and I get the "unmarried heir" alert.
2. I click on the alert and then click on "betrothed". Nothing happens.
3. I wait a few more years. Nothing. If I try to marry one, I don't find the other as an option for marriage.
4. So I break the betrothal. And then ask them to marry each other, which they do (with the added malus to our relations because of the "broken betrothal").

Should I post the save file?
It seems quite straightforward to reproduce...

Have you removed the alert for betrothals? Check your active alerts to make sure it is active. If the alert is not active then I know no way for the betrothal to lead to a marriage.

I too am having this problem. Years pass and the heir, or frankly all of my betrothed children fail to enter their arranged marriages.

Sorry to bump the thread but I'm intrigued!

Tried other playthroughs and the "Betrothed Can Marry" alert hasn't shown up yet.
Could it be because the AI doesn't approve of their marriage any more?
I can't think of anything else to explain this... although I do wonder why this hasn't been reported by many other players yet.

Have you checked it is not disabled? If it is not upload a save.

Also make sure you have COQS as your checksum.

That helped.
1. I opened up the same menu as your screenshot. The "Disabled Alerts" was OFF (as it should be -- not ticked, as default).
2. I ticked it ON and a bunch of "red alerts" appeared on the right.
3. I clicked on the "Betrothed Can Marry" red line, enabling it and the Icon showed up on the top of the screen.
4. I clicked on "Betrothed Can Marry" Icon and FINALLY that allowed my heir to marry the princess, like it was supposed to.

Oh, yeah, I've got COQS here.:rolleyes:

In any case... it does look like a bug, doesn't it?
