Hi guys,
Well yesterday (28.06) I bought polish version of Crusader Kings II. Installed from steam, updated etc. When prompted, chosen "Polish" as ingame languge. When I lunched the game, during loading screen (before main screen with Single Player, Options etc.) all translations were fine. But since main screen, all text is totally mixed and messed up. So much that it is impossible to play.
In this thread http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...d-or-Sword-of-Island-all-text-messed-up/page2 moderator Andrew suggested to post here in Bug Reports. So here I post.
I know from this forum and couple of users, that there is such a problem with not only polish translation, but also spanish, french and others.
I tried for couple of hours everything - reinstall, update drivers, reinstall, dx reinstall, some other stuff reinstall, and once again - reinstall. I came to this spanish topic that pointed out, that SwordOfIslam.csv is messed up.
So far I have found two solutions:
1. You can switch back to english version. It is impossilble to switch back from steam (you can choose "English", but when you start the game - it does not work). So you need to go to file My Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/settings.txt
edit line "language=l_polish" to "language=l_english" (or spanish, or whatever).
And play english version and wait for patch that will fix it.
2. You can just delete SwordOfIslam.csv. It is located in (when using steam) Steam\steamapps\common\crusader kings ii\localisation. I did that yesterady and it worked just fine. Some (but very little) translations is still mixed up, but I guess only new ablilities and new stuff that was added in Sword of Islam. All the rest just works fine.
And please, Paradox, as much as I love you (I have been playing your Europa Universalis for like 10 years or so), please don't give me poop like "You can play english version", "We will update soon" or (my favorite) "We are not responsible for polish translation, Cenega is". Come on! You publish this game on Steam that has got few language versions to choose from. How could you NOT check these versions??? We, as you customers, dont care how you pay to translate, how is responsible for what, how you organise your work and company and so on. We are loyal customers, who want to use your product. I personally can take much (ohhh belive me, I took a LOT while playing buggy as hell EU after it was relased), but such a BASIC bugs are just !@#$$%^ joke! Do you really think, I should contact Cenega (local game publisher, that also does polish translation)??? They forward me to Steam. Steam forwards me to...YOU!!! God damn... If Cenega does translations for you, MANAGE them and TEST translation just for basic things! Please guys!
