And now I suppose you wil all bugger off to play with your new toy and leave me here all alone in the forums all by myself because my PC is miles away and even though I have downloaded the patch I cannot install it or play it and I am really glad to have it but really sad that I cannot play it right now and you will all talk about it and I will feel really left out and no-one will talk to me because you will all be playing HoI v 1.06 and just to show you all I will start my own threads and answer all my own posts but none of you will care because you will all be offline for hours at a time playing it and ...

Johan can perhaps confirm this but, for a good clean install, the advice is to install this patch on top of a fresh install from the CD, rather than on top of the existing 1.05 install. You might get some graphics glitches if you just layer it on top of what's there.
