So stumbled onto another, while not game stopping entirely, but pretty much a game ruining bug in 1.05b.

I took over Jerusalem in a Crusade, later on got attacked by a Jihad call, other Christian AI came to help, great I thought, only to realise the AI is attached to my main army that is 20k strong making it a huge attrition drain.

That is not the worst thing.

The worst thing is when I try and attack an enemy castle, the AI 'stack' comes along with me but when I get there, I find myself NOT in charge of the siege. For some reason or another it is always another army that is in charge of the siege.

I don't mind the attachment and attrition 'so much' if I could actually be controlling the siege since it is the AI that is supposed to be attach to my army not the other way around. I could have just stormed the entire province with the huge stack.

But no... 20k army became 8k as I 'besiege'. Dumbest army ever award.

Did you have your King commanding the army personally? My King Richard fought a de jure claims war against Scotland, personally commanding the English army. His brother-in-law, duke of Brittany, tagged along with some men. When Richard was killed in battle, the following siege was commanded by the duke, now the highest ranking army commander.

Nope, they're all vassals, but my army is bigger than the AI's.

Not sure what character the AI comprised of, but it's other Kings that came to help. I'm playing as Wales and HRE, France, Britanny, Scotland and England came to help, along with a number of small duchies (though I was just in the middle of a war with England on a de jure war when I got Jihaded and I ended up winning that quickly and then ask the English to help out lol.) HRE sent a stack of 80k men that didn't join my group though.

UPDATE

I still have the game opened. The guys who are controlling the siege varies, I had duchy of sallejgeyland (can't spell it sorry), and the Mayor of a town in brittany in charge of the siege while my army had dukes vassles and a number of dukes from other kingdoms.

If you after the start of the siege give your army an order to move, and then cancel it, you get charge of the siege. Atleast that was what helped me in my 1.05 game when I noticed this issue, I think I succesfully did this aswell when I continued after patching to 1.05b

Which suggests it is a bug rather than WAD? Either the highest ranking ruler is supposed to take charge, which means the ability to move-cancel is not WAD or when a ruler attaches himself to you (or you attach yourself to another ruler), the attachee should never be the one leading the sieges as they sort of give up that right when they click (read announce), they will be following another ruler. To me, it seems the latter is most appropriate.

Yes, please post this in tech support so that if it is not WAD it can be fixed.
