Anyone noticed that they added new colours or simply made better use of what they had? There are far fewer repeats of colour in Europa now. Burgandy is burgandy! Well, the new map palette is a welcome addition for sure.

Is it the same or different from the colour patch that was already available.

It might be based on that.

I like it too, save for the fact that it seems like half the Italian nations are green.

Aaargh! Burgundy is burgundy (notice the lack of As)!;)

And yes, it is far prettier, not to mention the fact that Bavaria is finally blue- can you even read this color?

The colors are good, but I would recommed choosing a different color for the Royalist when they revolt from England. Their dark red is very hard to distinguish from England's red. I know there's probably some way for me to change the color myself, but I'm too lazy to try and figure out how;)

Theres a file called country.csv, open it using a text editor (not excel), and you'll find a list of tags....find ROY, and type in your new colour in place of Dark Red.

Hmmm... sounds like I'm the only one who doesn't like the new colors. (No offense, State Machine-- probably my tastes are just screwy). I didn't have a problem with the old color scheme; is there any way I can restore it short of reinstalling EU and copying the old color scheme files?

No problem. Color is very subjective. Thanks to those who like it, though. :)

To get the old colors back:
a) If you have 1.04 still installed someplace, copy its colorscales.csv (in the Map sub-folder).
b) A pain the ass: reinstall any older version. Save the colorscales file. Then reinstall 1.05 and copy the colorscales file.
c) PM me with your email addy and I'll send the old file.

That takes care of colors. What country gets what color is in country.csv in the db folder. I went to great pains to try to avoid any conflicts of color, but it is an impossible task. You can't reinstall an older version because of other changes. So if you don't like what countries get what, you have to make your own changes to this file.

Hehe. Burgundy and Bavaria were two of a few theme changes I made.

I like the new colors for the most part. however, there's a few countries that keep ending up next to each other with the same light brown color that has been annoying me...I think they're Hanover, Genoa, and Poland. Anyone else notice that?

Oh I simply adore the new colors. But for the sake of complaining I would like to see some more bright colors like, more purples and pinks. BTW the colorscales download dosen't work for me at least. So I am very pleased to see these new colors included in this patch thanks again State Machine.;)

hehe

I've tested a million times. Some games end up with lots of orange countries. Some with lots of green. Some with lots of light brown...

Quite maddening. :D

Thanks E-M. Didn't Lord Barking Dog have a color mod? As I recall it was pretty radical. It did, however, have a consistent palatte, unlike the old and new EU colors.

I can't seem to find the file, which folder is it in?

DB

First entry is country tag, second is the "color" used on the political map. Color does not = the actual color necessarily. You need to use other countries as an example.

What I really would have liked was a unique color reserved for the Human Player.

The new colors are much more pleasant... but there are a few that still bugs me, like France. That irritating blue, makes me want to see them loose all the time, shame England's turned so passive ;)

There's less color conflicts now, but they do exist, couldn't this be circumvented with a larger variety of country colors? There's a limit?

The CoT colors of Flanders and Ile de France are great, makes me wish the rest was grayer as to fit in. :)

I'm getting more and more tempted to download the patch :D
Problem is just I don't have time to play :(
