I'm truly sorry to sour the board with unconstructive complaint, but I've tried gentle nudging three times now with absoloutely no response so I see no alternative to pumping up the volume. It's been a full month since 1.04 was released and I'm still unable to download it from D2D. D2D tell me it's a developer issue, the developers tell me nothing at all. Apart from anything else, that's just plain rude. The upshot is that I'm stuck with an inferior product while other purchasers who paid the same price are enjoying the benefits of the game's development.
When AoD went to sale part of the marketing message was that it would be available through all major download suppliers. D2D was specifically mentioned as being one of those. No indication was given that some of those suppliers would be prevented from providing patches in a timely manner by the inefficiency of the developers or the commercial interests of the marketers. If it is a matter of inefficiency at BL-Logic then surely I'm entitled to be informed as to what, if anything, is being done to remedy the situation. As it stands it appears that my interests as a consumer are simply being ignored.
If, on the other hand, it is a matter of Paradox failing to honour their responsibility as a marketer then surely I'm entitled to know what BL-Logic is doing to awaken them to that responsibility. It's not as if you have no clout at all in this situation. You are making money for Paradox of the back of a game design that was, prior to your efforts, defunct and to all intents and purposes marketed-out. If they are not prepared to allow you to operate as a reputable business enterprise then you should be prepared to withdraw from your partnership with them and stop that money-flow. I don't minimise the cost to you of playing that kind of hard-ball, but it's the cost of ethical business practice. As it stands it appears that my interests as a consumer are simply being ignored.
If you're not prepared to do either of those things, or indeed anything else that would deliver me the product as marketed, then I'd like my money back, please.
