The patch was available on Gamersgate the same day it has been announced on the forum, IIRC (maybe the next day, ok, but not thus late as for other sites), so no problem. Of course, if you mean that people that didn't buy the game at Gamersgate had to wait longer, then that's a problem, yes... btw, which site did you buy AoD from? Did you have to wait many days to get the patch available, too?

I purchased the game thru "Gametap" They no longer even sell the game. Am I totally screwed??? I can't find the patch anythere on their site and they refuse to respond to my e-mails.

Paradox -- tell me how to get the patch! It is you responsibility now!

I believe that I HAVE registered my game! If not , then pray tell, how excatly do I do that. I have purchased HOI2, Doomsday, Aramgeddon, HOI3, and EU3. I ain't no newcomer for crissake.

1.02 is/was the initial release of the game, so there's no actual 'patch' for it, short of a complete reinstall.

I have run into some problems, maybe someone knows a solution. First, I have downloaded the patch but I can't open
it. I have tried almost every program on my computer, windows says it's a MIME file and can't recognize it. Second,
I downloaded AoD from D2D and wanted to register it, but I can't find any serialnumber or key anywhere. Is there a key? Thanks in advance

edit:forget number two, found the key in my e-mail!

Yes, actually it was. I am beginning to wonder if it is some kind of administrator security issue that vista seems so fond of that's keeping me from opening it. Guess I'll simply have to wait until D2D or paradox releases it. Thanks for the effort anyway!

All you need to do is rename the file and add the EXE extender by putting .exe at the end of the file name and it works just fine.

I'm going to buy the patch the same site I've purchased the AoD - on D2D - I'm talking about 1.04 - 1.03 slows the game too much. The problem of Gamersgate is that the customer has to do too many additional actions {first you register on Gamersgate itself, then you have to register on payment's system site, then to wait for several days etc.}
The idea of CC payment is to make life easier - so what I want is just to make three steps:
1. Find my game on the site
2. Provide my CC details
3. Download the game
That's how it works on D2D - fast and easy. As for the Gamersgate - I've contacted their support department - they told me there won't be any alternative to the existing payment methods in the nearest future.

That's just spreading false information. Gamersgate works just like every other online retailer I've ever used, including Direct2Drive. Make an account, select a game to purchase, put in your payment information, voila. If that didn't work for you, then you either tried to do something when Gamersgate was have a problem behind the scenes or its a classic case of user error.

Edit:
Direct2Drive requires you to have an account as well. Chances are you didn't notice because its tied into the Fileplanet/IGN/Gamespy network, and already had an account through them you made however long ago.

Direct2Drive also doesn't have the patch -- another reason I regret buying the game from them.

I just downloaded patch 1.03 from gamersgate and I get the following message:

The setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the program.

I have tried to download in again but even though I deleted the previous attempts it just dumps it right back in the folder and tells me the same thing. Sooo.....wtf?

Did you try reinstalling the whole game? Uninstall (make sure you run the uninstaller, not just deleting the directory), reinstall, repatch.
