Pardon me, if I sound a bit pissed, it's because I am.
Why the HELL isn't this patch available in any way other than through each individual retailer?
Why isn't it available as a stand-alone patch just like EVERY OTHER HoI patch?
Supposedly, the patch was finished ages ago, so it's taken GamersGate well over a week to get off their lazy butts and actually release it, so who's to say it won't take Impulse and Steam another week... or two... or six? I mean, there's obviously no rush, or they would've had it out in a reasonable time, already. Like last week.
I bought my game from Impulse because I like Stardock's attitude, and I had to buy it somewhere. In the past it hasn't mattered one bit where you buy a HoI game, because you just download and install the patch directly. No need to wait for a "Steam patch", or an "Impulse patch". Why not this time?
Why do we even have a launcher that taunts me by telling me there's a new version if it won't let me download that version?
Really, if this is the way it usually was, I'd just frown and deal with it, but Paradox is treating AoD completely different than it treats it's own HoI titles, and that not only pisses me off because I have no idea when I can get an update to the game I own and enjoy, but because I think it's pretty darned unfair to the good guys who made AoD.
