If Mao was defeated in Shaanxi, we can only assume he was killed. Unless he managed to escape to Mongolia.

I see your point. But then the event should still create a Stalinist CHC if it's released on Soviet soil with Stalinist Ministers.

By the way. I like it that USSR now attacks Japan after Germany is dead and I do like the event that creates CHC, BUT:

- As it is now, CHC seems to get random and not connected provinces of Manchukuo and whatever the Soviets have occupied from CHI that was previously under SOV rule. As SOV and CHC are not allied, the Communists have no fighting chance at all, as SU controls huge parts of CHI (depending on how much Japan had conquered) and CHC can't get through. SOV should cede ALL provinces in the China-region it has to CHC if it decides to do the event!

I actually don't think the annexation of the communists is really anticipated. Surely when the Manchuria to Mao event fires, it borders with Shaanxi?

Either way, it sounds like it needs a fix desperately...

I've just seen it happening in my France game again. I took a screenshot to better visualize it:

It's 1946 now. As you can see, the Soviets have invaded the provinces that were previously occupied by Japan after they declared war on them. They've annexed Manchukuo and created the PR of Korea. Then US threw Nukes on Japan and they got the surrender event.

As Japan surrendered, USSR kept all the provinces they had conquered from Japan. Then, the CHC event happened and created CHC just like shown below - seperated into pieces of Manchukuo. The provinces that now belong to CHI on the border region of China and Manchukuo were seceded to CHC by SOV, too, but were captured by CHI during the civil war. That's why SOV now has provinces in China that are seperated from their home lands.

Now, the civil war has come to an end, because CHC and CHI can't fight against each other as SOV is in the way. This is why SOV should cede ALL chinese provinces it controls to CHC on the event.

How did that gap form between the Soviet controlled areas and the communists? I agree, all territory should be handed over.

As i wrote above, that gap was handed to the commies as well, but since most of their forces seemed to have started in the isolated regions in Manchuria, they weren't able to defend it.

This will be corrected. #1340

I've given a quick look at the event files but I couldn't find the event. Are you sure it's not the normal "liberation" process?
If you have will and time, please check that for me (hopefully with id of event, but even name would be enough). Unfortunately lately I'm really busy and don't have much time, so if you could give me a hand here I'd appreciate it. :)

Okay, I've given it a look. Here is what my history log of that savegame says:

Code:
name = "0:00 June 20, 1945 : The people of Communist China declared independence from China."
name = "0:00 June 20, 1945 : China declared war upon Communist China."

"A New Red World!" is in USSR.txt and has the event ID 2007050:

}

There is nothing that actually "creates" CHC in case it didn't exist (as here, it was annexed by CHI in 1933), so I guess that there is the problem. Maybe the event needs to check for CHC's existance and either create it (and set the correct ministers) or just cede the provinces. Also, maybe the province ID's aren't correct anymore. Isn't it possible with DH to cede entire regions? That would make the event much easier, wouldn't it? SOV should just cede the entire China-Region to CHC with that event.

I just noticed: The history log reveals that CHC liberated itself from CHI, not from SOV - which is kind of weird. That usually only happens in case of a rebellion and would explain why the ministers and the country aren't stalinist. But I doubt that there was any rebellion in CHI, because it has a huge army.

The rebellion would explain the leninist ideology.
SOV has CHC in its liberation list so it would naturally liberate it.
Thanks for finding the event, I was looking for an event with independence, that's why I couldn't find it. I'll try to fix it. #1343
