I have three cruiser designs I currently use in my fleets. An escort carrier, a medium range artillery cruiser and a short range brawler.
But when I order my fleet to upgrade to the latest designs, the game decides that I really only need one type of cruiser, and upgrades all my cruisers to the same design.
And it doesn't even pick the best one, it picks the second best. Why? Is the game programmed to always pick the latest design and ignore things like the name of the design or the firepower?
Now I have to either design a single cruiser for all purposes (removing the rock-paper-scissors element from my fleet) or I have to upgrade the ships and designs one-by-one. Or rebuild my entire fleet from scratch every time a new tech unlocks.
Is there a better solution for this conundrum?
