Hello, today I noticed a bug in the quest system. First a precursor-quest started (that one with the guys who gone extinct because of an illness), later the event for the "catch some alien-animals" fired.
Now there was that planet, let's call him Bob. When my scientists first surveyed Bob, they noticed some marks of the precursors an researched them. Later, when the other quest fired, Bob was again picked to be a quest target. So now, there were two quests on Bob. First the already researched precursor one and then also the "fetch-animal" one. But because of the precursor quest still being in the quest log, it was impossible to research the new quest. The whole "catch-alien-quest" stopped, till the precursor quest was finished. Only when the precursor quest was cleared from the log, my science ships could research the new quest.
So effectively a second quest on a planet that is already mentioned in quest log seem to block the newer quest.
