So during my game Republican Spain won from Nationalist Spain. A while later in the game I wanted to trade some goods. Colour me surprised when Nationalist Spain is actually still on that list. Hovering over it (the mouse doesn't show in the screenshot), it is actually Vichy France, which makes sense for the game at that time.
So it seems the game knows the correct nation, but the label is getting corrupted with the name of another (non-existing) nation. It also has the right flag, the axe is a very clear indicator of Vichy France's blazon.
Edit: And screwed up my title, it's actually the other way around, on-hover is correct. *sigh* Early morning posts, etc.
