So are there actually cultural buildings now? Because in 0.1.5 the orcs where the only ones with a unique building tied to culture rather than specific location.

Actually I'm not sure...If they don't then I suppose only units would be the way. But as the retinue system was redesigned, I still need 0.1.6.
Making useless work isn't fun.

It's the same reason why I haven't worked on Meridia's stuff anymore. I need up to date files.

This is still the wrong thread for that though. If you really do want to do something like you propose, start a different thread to discuss it.

It seems like the best solution really is to just let a modmod put in Dwemer and Snow Elves. It's completely ridiculous that they would ever make a comeback, and there's one survivor of both races, and neither seems too eager to have progeny. And I really don't think it'd be enough to just have a cultural building for Dwemer. A whole underground city, represented by one building? A real solution would be to have special counties in a special Dwemer kingdom that the Dwemer would have a special CB to conquer, and special CBs related to raiding the surface for perhaps artifacts, slaves, or gold, rather than actually taking surface land, because AFAIK, the Dwemer never did anything like that. Hell, I don't think the surface parts of Markath are even confirmed to be made by Dwemer, right? It's entirely possible that they just stole a bunch of furniture from the ruins below and outfitted some buildings.

Well either the surface areas of Markarth were made by the Dwemer or the people who built it tried very hard in order to replicate Dwemer architecture.

Not knowing what happens to the dwarves irks me as much as not knowing what is inside Marcellus Wallace's briefcase.

Clearly all the evidence points to the Dwemer ascending to become the contents of Marcellus Wallace's briefcase.

The Graphics are ready, but the reluctance is because of the reason above. The implementation of the Falmer was unsatisfactory for the same reasons apart from manpower focus and lore. So we went with the compromise decision.

Impressive work on the portraits! Glad to see some progress is being made, slowly but surely :)

Both survivors of the two said Mer races being males make them effectively the last of their race as race is passed on via the mother to the child.

The best option I could think off as I love the portraits is maybe the devs lump falmer and dwemer into a sub mod that makes them creatable in the ruler designer if you have said sub mod. It removes them from the main mod so requests being spammed in the main mod preview threads can be refocused into a thread for the submod. If devs ever get to point were the can work on a side project if they want they can then go back to touching on them in said sub mod or someone comes along wanting to add to it is then their free to work on them.

Honestly the more I think about it throwing what you have on falmer and dwemer into a non cannon sub mod with the a warning that:
it is non canon not fully developed races on the first post of a sub mod thread as well as making it a sticky might be the best. People have to actively read the thread to get the option to download and play them and have been honestly warned its not cannon and incomplete. Also if anyone ever wants to add to them that is not on the mod team they can see it exists and maybe work on it if they want. Just seems the best way to make everyone happy.

Their non cannon as the races are effectively dead and really shouldn't be in the main mod anyway. However the race portraits really look awesome. So great in fact its a shame their is not an option for people to be able to use them if the want so submod seems like the best option in terms of everyone being happy.

I still think that is a bad idea, especially because Yagrum Bagarn is active and should be a courtier at the time of the Second age. And because taking features out of the main mod is bad. (Gelebor is also active but unlike Yagrum he was in a hole all the time so his presence would be better as an event. Yagrum was a traveller who interacted with the world, hence better as a courtier)

You should strive to have as many possibilities in the main mod. Ruler designer IS a feature after all.
I am a Falmer player, and I was really looking forward to make a Dwemer. It's already extremely hard to find multiplayer games for mods, it's like 100 times harder to find it for submods.

I don't see why you can't just add the two cultures in with a cultural unit.
I mean, they don't need more than that, especially if they're designer only races. (Or well, Yagrum is around but since he cannot produce another Dwemer he is a special case)

I even understand the Vanilla Dev's decision with Hellenic even if I strongly disagree with it.
Hellenic being a religion would need a lot of flavor to work.

Dwemer and Falmer on the other hand are cultures. All they need are names, a portrait, and a cultural unit.

I hope Dwemer make it in the Ruler Designer, but thinking about that has made me wonder. Do we have enough Dwemer names for there to actually be a good name list?

Well we have a lot of male names. But I don't think we have many female names so we may have to invent some. ESO has several female Dwemer being mentioned.

Then again, Chimer had only like 5 names in 1.5.
I'll try to make a list.

Here goes:

Male:
Mzark, Radac, Yagrum , Nchylbar, Mzunchend, Anchard, Brazzefk, Bthuand, Cuolec, Dalen-Zanchu, Dhark, Dumac, Gharen, Ihlendam, Jnaggo, Klathzgar, Mithas, Mzulchond, Nbthld, Nchylbar, Nchunak, Nevith, Razak, Rkungthunch, Sthovin, Dahrk, Kagrenac

Female:
Bluthanch, Kamdida

Last names: Bagarn, Mzahnch, Mezalf, Stungnthumz

Was Mzark an actual Dwemer name? I kind of assumed it was just the name of the tower.

But I suppose that's a fair-ish number (for males at least), and the devs could just make up some Dwemer-sounding names if they really wanted to.

I really don't understand people objecting to the falmer-dwemer(except for the devs). We have Akavir, you know, THE MYSTERIOUS AKAVIR, the eastern continent that is"connected" to the Tamriel via a series of small islands which we know about next to nothing. We also have Akavir's shape, it's inhabitant races, cultures, religions, even events if I'm not mistaken. People are going around preaching the way doomsayers do, telling dwemer and falmer(not the betrayed) aren't canon, which are actually canon, but extinct races. How canon is the stuff that comes with Akavir? We have an entire continent of non-canon but adding two canon, but extinct races to the RD(by the way one of them is already in) would be something of a downfall for this mod according to them. And Akavir is just one example, the one I chose because of the popularity(or rather the infamy) of that topic. There is also Pyandonea and Yokuda, two other places we also know little of except for how the races of these places look like and how one of them is shaped. There is Atmora too but I'll not mention it with the other places because there is literally nothing going on there except for draugrs.

Yeah having non-canon footnote things are okay. Things featured in the actual games? NO! SHUT IT DOWN!

With so many agrees on my previous post I believe we have enough strength in this faction to pose a threat. I am sending this ultimatum, Implement the law: RD Dwemer and Falmer or else we'll revolt! My lords, be prepared to raise your levies should the need arise! :p

With so many agrees on my previous post I believe we have enough strength in this faction to pose a threat. I am sending this ultimatum, Implement the law: RD Dwemer and Falmer or else we'll revolt! My lords, be prepared to raise your levies should the need arise! :p

Well, for lore reasons, of course we'd only be able to include male Dwemer and Falmer.

Going off of the Akavir stuff, I would really appreciate a Tamriel-only version of the mod, as I'm not interested in the other continents at all and having them just slows the game down.

NOBODY* is interested in Akavir, it just too big of a hassle to delete it. Basically, it's just there.

*Well, maybe a few people will try out new Akavir...
