On the blorg stream the center of the galaxy is non-navigable. I was wondering why this is.

Maybe it's because of the Super Massive Black Hole at the center of glaxies?
But Mass does not equal size so why would that large of an area be cut off?

You need the Reaper IFF before taking the Omega 4 Relay. It's the only way to survive the trip.

Because God lives there and he doesn't want any visitors.

Because you would disintegrate in seconds, pretty much every force there is would be trying to kill you about as hard as it can.

It is a design decision, I guess. In order to design the center of the galaxy correctly (or at least somewhat close to that), a lot (and again: a lot!) of stars must be placed right next to each other. Maybe that would break the balance of the game... After all, this is still a game. :)

First thing that came to mind...

Decent people shouldn't think too much about that...

Since there's no system, there's no need to go, by game logic. Also, no hyperlink leads to the center, plus unreachable center makes an interesting obstacle to galactic geography, demanding you to find another routes rather than trying to go straight through it

Excuse me... Excuse me... I just wanted to ask a question. What does God need with a starship?

It has pretty good AC.

This makes the most sense to me actually

Headcanon, FTL doesn't work in the relatively extreme gravity of the core. Warp fields destabilize, hyperlanes break, and wormholes won't form.

Even if that's not an issue, the core is simply not a nice place to live or vacation. Some kind of secret system revealed by anomaly or something would be cool, though.

I don't think there's anything actually stopping you going through the galactic core, it's just that none of the drives in the game can go that far in a single jump.

Proof in my book that even mediocre films can have amazing lines. :)

It is possible. You just need to keep trying. We can consult an expert on matters of difficult entry.

well at the center of the Milky Way, as you know, is creamy nougat. Very hard to maneuver a space ship in it...

I rewatched STV a few months ago and it wasn't nearly as bad as I remembered.
