In tax pressure measured as a percentage of GDP, it is about half in the United States compared to the socialist paradise that is Scandinavia. I'd look up the exact numbers but I'm already late and on my phone.
On the other hand you don't get free health care, free university including masters, student salaries, high quality kindergartens, etc. in the US.
Funny how the word "free" makes not just one, but two, appearances in that sentence.
Because I don't have to pay directly; sure I pay through taxes, but that is spread out and I won't be much in debt for taking a masters or be ruined if I get some exotic decease.
Has anyone here played "to the moon"? You could basically have "avoided this plot" if the US just had free healthcare.

Huh? Are you talking about taxes? If so then most Danes actually are happy about the tax pressure being high since they think the things the taxes finance are worth it.
Also be prepared to have your mind blown. I just saw that the conservatives blocked Bjørn Lomborg from getting back on the annual budget; that is something the liberals really wanted to. (Lomborg is a high profile climate sceptic.) In general the conservatives are much more green then the liberals; it is the liberals who are climate skeptics and wary of restricting emissions---not the conservatives. The conservatives historically have been trying to guard the environment.
