And AOK said he started doing it because he wanted to preserve information. A long day of voting and switches give you a lot of information, killing someone completely random that you have absolutely *no* information on maximises your opportunities to analyse the vote cycle later.
Again, doing it too often kinda nullifies the point as being predictable with it make it easy to manipulate. But when done sparingly and correctly it can be very effective.
