TLR reviewer criticices story and strategic portion and technical issues, laments lack of complexity in tactical portion, compliments sound and music, ends with hope that like with Shadowrun, future expansions or installments can improve things.

That was one weird review.

He spent half of it complaining that Battletech isn't Xcom.
Then he bluntly says he didn't play that much, but still managed to type a long review? A review is worth pretty much as much as the reviewer played the game.

Then in the end, for some odd reason, which isn't clear at all....he gives the game a top grade and says, quite correctly, that the future updates and DLCs looks very promising.

Wow, that was inconsistent at best.
Someone needs a copy editor or at least someone who proof reads for consistency and flow, 'cause damn..

..and on a side note, I just love those sites that constantly load and reload adds and crap into your browser.

The guy needs to proof read his stuff, and the suggested improvements are mostly bad ideas, but many of the criticisms are reasonable (and have been made many times before).

Fully agree with the criticisms. Of course many have been made before, but not quite as detailed.
For example, most just stay the story is bland or boring, but do not go into detail as to why the story doesn't work one bit.

Most likely he copied and pasted from other reviews? Wrote it in another language and translator did not work very well? I would go with the first one.
