Hey people,

With all the thousands of AAR, I was wondering if there was like the "essentials" that have to be read. By essentials, I mean that these AARs either won some awards or are very well written and crafted. Thanks for the help.

Also, most of the different AAR areas have a librAARy that lists just about all the work done here over the years. Further, they list those award winners you were wondering about. Happy reading. :D

And if you would like to have some introductions to some AAR's: previews, check out the AArland Advocate which you can find at the top of each of the different AAR fora.

Have fun!

In my most humble opinion, anything by Coz1, and Mettermrck, Lord Durham, Frogbeastegg is excellent.
Ditto what Mett said, Alhazen. :D

As a general rule, if you dont want to go by the author I generally sort by number of views and select all threads started from the beginning. This gives you the most popular and therefore most likely to be the best crafted or offer something new.

Conversely, to see what is being newly updated Id check by date and make your own mind up.

Of course Ill offer you some gems that I think are worth looking at. These arent the literary masterpieces of the above persons: coz1, mett, yogi, sm et al, rather gameplay driven works, which I tend to prefer when it comes to helping out understanding the game.

I'll plug you, Hajji! :D Great work!

And I greatly respect Peter Ebbesen, though my reading of his is less than complete.

Many masters out there... I'll name more when I'm not running out the door!

We can not forget the classic AAR by Rustican The German Risk AAR
Seconded.

Pretty much any AAR by someone posting in this thread, excluding myself, will be amazing. My friend, you are currently in the hallowed Great Hall of AARland, where all the great AuthAARs reside. Just choose one of them, and you will have days, if not months of reading before you. :)

Also check out people signitures for a general view, or check out the WoW, AA, AARSC.

And may I perhaps point at Wolfhounds Doomed from the StAARt! The best comic AAR ever :)

Haaf had a great tale about Oman over a year ago that was hilarious, J. Passpartout has his Concrete Porker saga which is also pretty funny. Anything in the Weekly Showcase is bound to be excellent. But Coz1's statement about checking out the various AAR libraries is really an excellent idea. It is jam packed with all the various AARs written. Judas Maccabeus is writing a great story about Rome. As are others, as well. JM has a signature substitute which lists his various projects. Quite a few others do as well. Wander about, get your feet wet and enjoy. It is a smorgasbord of tasty treats waiting for you to fill your trencher and partake!
