    At long last, patch 1.0.8 is released! You can find it at savefile. When I get it uploaded to Paradox, I'll add the link.

    This patch will only install if your LEI installation is at 1.0.3 or higher. If you need it, you can find the 1.0.3 patch here.

    Changes in this version:

    - Bugfix: Fixed late-game out of memory crash bug caused by very large AI battles.
    - AI: Tweaked AI to put a bit more priority on protecting its Capitals.
    - AI: Tweaked AI to keep track of enemy fleets a bit better.
    - Bugfix: Campaign games now correctly apply the Difficulty setting
    - Bugfix: System Priority now correctly restored from save games
    - New Feature: Added nebulae - explore them, colonize them, exploit them.

    Notes to modders - I'm sure there are a few language-related changes to the .xls files...but I made them a good 4-5 months ago so I don't remember what they are. The game may or may not work if you keep using your 1.0.7 XLS files.

    Downloaded twice 1st time with opera got htm file, second time I used explorer and got a zip, something about savefile that opera doesn't like.
    will try tomorrow and let you know. I will try it on space sloths machine:rofl:
    so it can't mess up my game if it won't work with 1.07 xls files.

    Sorry space sloth, but you are used to me changing your machine in midgame, and you know that I couldn't handle losing my current game.:D I will save your files in case we have to change back.

    This won't take away from the variety of ships will it?, or just slightly?, will it work good with my different ships? Or will I not be able to use this? How similar are the stacked ships? Sorry just have concerns about how you said you were going to fix this. What files got changed, maybe I won't want to use this, as I haved changed many files(135 so far).
    Will know soon enough I guess 4 hours and I will be free until tomorrow night. Thanks bman654 this is awesome even if it ends up not working proper with my mod. You should have a place for donations I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks that.:)

    The code that stacks ships only stacks them if there are alot of ships (100+) and the designs are "similar". The definition of "similar" widens if it is an AI-only battle since the player won't really care if the battle is not totally accurate. The bugfix was to make the definition of "similar" widen even more if, after stacking it still had way too many ships. ie it would start stacking the stacks.

    No changes were made to the actual design strategies or xls files and it shouldn't impact anything you have done--you'll only notice the change if you view battles with roughly 500+ ships per side.

    There's a reasonable chance the 1.0.7 xls + the 1.0.8 mysteries.xls file will work. I think on a couple of screens I had to add a new localized string to the files (most likely the windows.xls file or whatever its called)--these will cause a crash if they are not present. You might be able to get away with using that one file from 1.0.8.

    p.s. I think (but did not test) savegames made with 1.0.8 cannot be opened with 1.0.7 due to the system priority fix and the nebula stuff)

    OK, I haven't had much of a chance to do any testing, but with just the patch applied no old save games would work, I overwrote config folder with mine, leaving any new files and replacing the old, and the old saves loaded. Interesting you changed my triarm galaxy there's two yellow things and a orange thing( Nebulae I assume) in it now, cool. will have to find addition in windows file and add it to mine and I think it will work ok. Will get to real testing in a while, space sloth will check it out this weekend.:D

    Sounds proper enough to me. Now the testing yay!! Only question is how many of us are going to test it??:p
    Thinking back on fleet size, I agree 1000+ ships could cause this, don't think it was ever less than around 1200(sometimes just my fleet was that large) on my machine. Save every turn and you can go back and explore your consistant crashes.:D

    Okay, Thanks Bman!

    Luckily, nothing will be concerned about what I do, and that is start games over and over and over again, and again, and again.

    After making out the tax forms, I may now have something to do until it gets a little warmer out now, and well, there is always time sometime to continue playing a game.

    Well, I delete games anyway, and usually only have 4 saved games, the start, the autosaves, and the last turn I was on! Still, I am changing the size of the fonts I can change (not tooltip fonts) down in size just a little (2-to be exact) and one size if it is odd (23 size down to 22 size.) But that will still take a while to try and see in the *.xml files exactly what it affects on the screen anyway. I changed the star numbers (for names) anyway again, and now it is just a simple - "S-0001" to whatever (5000 or 6000). I did change them all to just a " "(blank) but then you have to name a star system if you want to see it in the Construction Queue. Ah, although to a point I liked that because I name the important star systems to me, I thought it be better to have something at each star system anyway for a just a number or a name (like the old file still can be used yet!)

    Okay, new game coming up!

    I see Capacities at the start has changed for my Capital!

    Although don't get me wrong! Only in MOO3 can an observer see the fonts on your viewscreen from the Moon!

    This game not so bad, but why, why, why wreck the main screen of the game with such big font sizes???

    Nah, not needed after playing the game for awhile.
    Oh, well, end of rant!

    Just out of curiosity what are these nebulae game wise? what makes our colonys there different from any other?

    So far as to what I think is happening, is that each nebula changes a stat in the star systems there. Take the Cave Nebula, more minerals, the Egg Nebula - more trading, let's see I also saw the Cat (or Cat's Eye) Nebula which I do not remember, and since there are others, I do not know all of them yet!

    Now, if all raise the computer desk up and stand up at the computer, then you can animate while playing the game as the Leader! (or lean your head upon the desk and have your arms up and lean on it also, perhaps!)(then all you need is your monitor on a different pole stand at a good height also!)

    Oh, well, back to the game! (I think I will end up playing something else then Human though in the game!)(someday)

    Within a particular nebula, other things happen also. The variety of what is done totally is unknown as yet with all the nebulae. It may only allow 33% less biospheres, may increase effectiveness of certain weapons (say like plasma weapons), also increase shield strength on ships within the nebula, and other things, I forget as of now without viewing it in the game with the readout for the nebula.

    Thanks a lot for those! I assume you didn't fix the other loading savegames issue, the resetting of the History (or was it the Relations) meter in Diplomacy? :( Or the switched conquest News messages?

    I briefly checked the (xls) files, and they were unchanged (from 1.0.7) AFAICT. I'll check them again.

    Now on the easy game, one of the nebula is almost in the middle of the galaxy when the less count star systems are in the middle of the galaxy!
    (which is where I wanted it to end up in this galaxy I made.) (But it varies, so only once in a while will a nebula end up there.)

    Okay, I'm a bit tired and as I yank on my collar, out the door I go!

    Is there an otpion to allow or not allow the nebulae?


    Some games i mght want them and some other games i might not want them, is there an option about that? Its still a good feature nontheless, its just that i like to customize myu games as much as possible:rofl:
