UPDATE:
Mitch Gitelman and Mike McCain will be the Devs in the Q&A stream on Thursday!

Hey MechWarriors,

I hope you're alive out there while enduring these last painful days before release. But fear not! We have something for you that might make the wait a bit more doable.

It's time for that BATTLETECH Q&A you all have been waiting for!

Please use this thread to ask all the questions you might have and the Devs will answer them in the Thursday Q&A Livestream at 18.00 CEST at https://www.twitch.tv/paradoxinteractive.

Your host will of course be the noble and fantastic Mr cKnoor.

Are you ready?

GO.

Can we expect to see 21:9 screens officially supported?
I really wish to utilize my awesome 3440x1440 ultrawide monitor to its full potential!

What are your thoughts on having custom sounds for lunar and vacuum biomes where there is no atmosphere, to differentiate them from other biomes?

When a mech is selected, on the bottom left just under its name, there is a grid of dots.
What does this signify? (I'm not talking about the dots that outline movement options)

On today's stream, Sidestrafe used a mechwarrior with the ace pilot skill to first sensor lock, then fire, then move. Is this triple action manouver intentional or a bug?

Looking forward to thursday's Q&A and ofc the coming release!

In the streamers play throughs when they assemble a mech from 3 salvaged mech parts, the mech they get is a fully outfitted/equipped with armor, and weapons mech. Is this how the game will be or is this a bug in the streamers release copy and we will just get a stripped down no armor and weapons version of the mech when we assemble it with 3 salvaged parts?

Can an ACE PILOT shoot first, and then melee during its move?

About PVP: we can choose and edit a Mech loadout but what about the pilots ? Are we limited in choice to the predefined pilots ? If so, why (I've the right to want a pilot with 0 in gunnery, but max out in the others stats :p) and can we at least take 4 times the same pilot in a lance ?

Are the posts in the Bug Reports subforum being picked up/passed on to y’all?

Multiplayer:
Will we get for every biomere maps and when yes, how much maps per biomere?
Will there be random maps for multplayer or will it be like the beta x maps`?
Will someone of you play in the B.W.O. ? :p

Is there potential for adding the other in-timeline PGI modeled 'mechs into the game, such as the Assassin, Cyclops, and Javelin, at some point down the road?

I know the Cyclops as an example is pretty rare at that time, but considering what was mentioned about the Urbie being kinda rare in the game it seems like you have a system that could work for it.

Many players are assuming that some sort of C.A.S.E feature is auto-included on mechs, can you confirm this?

Currently, a pilot incapacitation gives a fully salvageable 'Mech regardless of how much of it was destroyed in combat. Is this intended or can it be easily adjusted by modders?

For example, I can blow out all arms and side torsos and bring the leg and CT within 1 IS and finally kill the pilot. This gives me 3/3 salvage same as a clean headcap and better salvage than a clean legging. Why would I ever go for dual legging when I can get better salvage by just shooting at it with the intent to destroy everything?

EDIT: This isn't about if the new 'Mech gets weapons or not afterwards. I feel it devalues carefully working a target down for just maximizing knockdowns and head plinks.

@emmasterakia and @HBS_Dagger, so this is a Dev Q&A like in the days of yore? So not gameplay-focused like previous Paradox-BATTLETECH-streams but instead this Thurdays will be an NGNG-style Dev Q&A?

If so, it always helps us to know who the HBS Devs are so that we can ask better questions. : )

If we see something in a store that we want for the future, can we trust that it will always remain there if we come back, or do stocks reset every month or year or whatever?

What design philosophy led to support inflation, especially extremes like 6 support hardpoints on the Grasshopper and the Banshee 3M - what was the reasoning there?

When will we get an official Paradox wiki so we can build it up to help newcomers figure this all out? Or should we just pick one of the two current unofficial wikis and focus on that instead?

Can you confirm that "Bad Intel" made it into the game, where a mission might be much tougher than the skull rating suggested?

What unlocks our ability to travel into systems in Magistracy, Marik, Liao, and Davion territory? Reputation? Story progress? Why are streamers having immediate access to the Concordat, but not these other territories?

Why are missions on a "water planet" in a map that has zero water? Is there a water planet biome, or other biomes, which are not yet in the version the streamers have?

Has the LRM clustering logic changed at all, for example can subsequent missiles hit the head if the first missile misses it?

Are the Banshee BNC-3E's hardpoints a mistake? Every other variant we've seen had the MWO hardpoints, but this one has only the bare minimum for its stock loadout.

Will some missions continue to instantly end when the objectives are complete, even if other hostile forces are standing?

What's the purpose of missions that have an "evac point" after completing all the objectives if at any time we can click withdraw to instantly get out of combat, and all the objectives would still be complete?

Does the multiplayer support 2 people using identical modified files and playing together with them? What happens if their files don't match?

We saw in recent streams that in escort missions the hostiles seem to ignore your 'Mechs and focus the vehicles. Shouldn't there be a way to either tell the vehicles to stay back, or to "hold agro" somehow?

Why is the total from buying 3 parts less than half the price of a full 'Mech? Will the final game have substantial costs in time and money to assemble such a 'Mech, to justify the cost different?

What does Faction Rep do and do not?
Do you get discount at Planets controlled by a faction that holds you in high regard?
Do you get better missions from a Faction that holds you in high regards?
Do you get better deals on missions from a Faction that holds you in high regards?
Does the Main Story changes due to Factions holding you in high regards?

On the same Subject are there Negatives to being held in High regards?
Do you get Blocked from Missions because a Rival Faction holds you in high regards (IE you are liked by the Concordat then the Magistracy does not give you Missions)

and Lastly on the Faction List
Is ComStar really a faction that you will get involved with and get missions from?
