Problem I: the Kingdom of Pergamon can only spawn via an unreliable event and is always AI-controlled (unless a player tag-switches via console command). This nation is also quite weak, as it appears a decade or so into the game and most of the times is quickly reconquered by Phrygia

Problem II: Currently, only Philetairos I and his brother Eumenes are in the game at the start, both as minor characters in Phrygia. If Philetairos becomes king, the Attalids become a major family and several additional characters are spwaned or adapted.

But if Phrygia keeps the Asia region taking the unrest penalty, the Attalids simply die out. Even if Eumenes gets married, his children get no surname, or he gets adopted into a major family.

We think that the Kingdom of Pergamon should be a formable tag (tier 2 or tier 3).

The decision should be available to any nation fulfilling these conditions:

- Is a Monarchy

- Any Hellenic culture OR Mysian, Carian, Phrygian or Lycian

- Owns the city of Pergamon

- Capital in the Asia region

<100 territories (This is to prevent a Phrygia player from taking this decision by moving the capital to Asia and transforming themselves into Pergamon immediately after start)

This should allow a custom flag and move the national capital to Pergamon and give the player an sizeable reward (free claims on provinces in the Asia region, some manpower, gold and free province investments).

Most importantly: the city of Pergamon should get 2 free fortress buildings if slots are available.

Phrygia’s The Antigonid cause wavers event should release a nation with a randomly generated tag, but unless something very unusual (like Phrygia losing Pergamon to someone else) has happened before, it will fulfil the conditions for the decision immediately and quickly take the decision, giving themselves some useful buffs.

To prevent both of these outcomes, the Attalids should start as a major family in Phrygia.

It should include these new characters and spouses:

- Eumenes (male, newborn baby, chaste trait), son of (Eumenes I succeded his uncle in 263 BC and died in 241 BC, while his year of birth is not known, it is not unreasonable to assume he was already born in 304 BC at the start of the game, and his parents already married. Chaste because he had no known children.)

- Satyra Poseidonid. (f, 16, mother of the newborn Eumenes, maried to the already existing Eumenes, average stats) (all that is known about the mother of Eumenes I is her name, Satyra daughter of Poseidonius, given that her historical husband is 16 at the start she should be same age)

- Attalos (m, younger than 16.) (The youngest brother of Philetairos and Eumenes, he was ancestor of the later Attalids. Perhaps he should be given lustful trait to balance out his nephew’s lack of fertility.)

- Attalos (m, in his 50s, either average stats or unnoticeable trait. Founder trait), (father of Philetaros I, Eumenes and Attalos, grandfather of Eumenes I. Not much is known about him, but given that his oldest sons are 26 and 16 at the start, it is reasonable to assume he was still alive in 304 BC. Founder as he technically the namesake of the entire dynasty.)

- Boa of Tieion, (f, late 40s, Paphlagonian culture, above-average finesse, high charisma, fair and lustful traits, wife of Attalos Sr., mother of Philetairos, Eumenes and Attalos jr.) (Ancient sources state clearly that she was Paphlagonian, and claim that she was a hetaira or a flute-player, therefore the stats and traits.)

The decision to release the Asia region should move all male Attalids and their spouses to the new state and remove the Attalids from the list of Phrygian great families. But if Phrygia keeps the land, the Attalids should have a chance to get on the throne of some seceding province (like the Frataraka family often does if the Seleucids collapse) or even overthrow the Antigonids and take over Phrygia.

The Antigonids often collapse, but much later than historically. Before they collapse, they usually conquer all their minor neighbors, and occasionally take some land from Egypt and the Seleucids.

Apparently, the Phrygian AI is not aware of the Korinthos deadline, at least it never tries to take it from Macedon.

The Seleucids collapse because they quickly conquer many wrong culture group areas from Gerrha, Maka, Armenia and Atropatene. If they fight the Antigonids, they lose more often then they win, losing the borderlands to them, and if they win, they never take more than the Palmyra province.

The "Mediterranean capital" decision is supposed to give them a new core area and buff it with free province investments in the new area, but AI Seleucids can’t take so much land without the “declare war on tributary” exploit even if they win.

Let’s hope that the Seleucids will get custom missions that will drive their initial expansion into Syria and then allow them to retake lost areas in the east, as Antiochus III did.
