Hi all.

We've spent the day processing your feedbank on the Banks release and have pushed an optional beta patch, 1.5.1, to address high priority issues. If it is found to be stable over the weekend, we will push it to 100% live early next week.

The beta version of the 1.5.1 (Banks) patch is now available on Steam.
  1. Right-click on Stellaris and choose "Properties"
  2. Click on "Betas" tab
  3. Select "1.5.1_beta" (if you can't see it, restart Steam)
  4. Download update
  5. Version should be 1.5.1

I'm not necessarily saying to leave this one in, but... Maybe the idea could be written down and expanded slightly on in 1.6 as a fun little world-building feature? I figured it was an accident, but it's a very interesting accident as far as what it says about galactic history.

You could make an event out of this where you can have special project to learn more. Probably too much effort for that though

It would be cool to have it happen if you spawned near a fallen empire or advanced start empire.

Also, no mention of the odd issue with the Server ID stuff for MP, hope that gets fixed soon, hot joining is annoying now...

The problem is how they trigger who the "Uplifter" is. If it triggers on being non-Primary species, such a species would be broken for Migration focussed empires.
But I have not confirmed it that will happen.

Agreed. Races uplifted by precursor races that achieved Space Flight. That is a pretty cool accident I can story up in my head easy.

While it's nice to see that the hotfix supposedly fixes the defines issue, what is the format required for it to work? As the classic method does not appear to be working, ex. "NDefines.NGameplay.WORMHOLE_CAPREQ_OUTSIDE_BORDERS = 0".

I second this. I see that the "NDefines" brackets are removed from the 00_defines file, but even removing that has no effect. And the file is still a .txt format.

Poked some other modders, I can confirm that the fix does work, the new format is akin to the following:

NShip = {
WARP_WINDDOWN_OUTSIDE_BORDER = 0.0
HYPERLANE_WINDUP_OUTSIDE_BORDER = 0.0
}

Just throwing my hat into the ring to confirm that this method/format is what works.
