Werewolf Lite CXXVII: Zorro

Everything is well in sunny California. Then the killing starts. A wealthy land
owner is found death. His family and servants slaughtered. One little girl
manages to escape this gruesome faith and tells a frightening tale of death
and destruction. Of the hacienda only a smoking ruin remains. The governers
soldiers are baffled, who could do such a thing and why. The people of
California know better than to trust in the army to solve this matter. They
cry out for one man and one man alone to save them: Zorro.

RULES:
There will be seventeen (17) players. Special Roles will be handed out after the seventeenth person signs up.

The Game will then proceed to an Election Day in which the new governer of California is chosen. After this a night deadline will follow at the usual deadline and the actual game will begin.

THE ROLES:
1X – Zorro (SEER): Self proclaimed defender of the people of California. By day he looks just like a normal villager, but at night he becomes Zorro and can check one person to be a villager or an outlaw.
4X – Outlaw: This person has been bought by evil ranchers to clear land to make room for their cattle. This is typically done by killing all other people living on the occupied land.
12X – Villager: Normal resident of California.

SPECIAL ROLE:
1X Governer of California: This role can be had besides any other role and it is publicly know who is the governer. The first governer of California is chosen on election day (day zero). The governer of California has the deciding vote in case of a tie. This means that if several people are tied and the governer is voting for one of these, by default the person the governer is voting for will be lynched and the others will live. He can also decide by posting to that effect in the thread to let all players in the tie be lynched. If there is a tie and the governer is not voting for one of the contestants he can still decide to condemn one or all players in the tie. Since the governer of California is a public posting all governer orders have to be made publicly (by posting in the thread). Governer orders done by PM will NOT count. The exception to this rule is the choosing of his successor. The governer must PM the name of the person he declares to be the new governer of California in case of his untimely demise to the GM. If no successor has been appointed a random person will be appointed new governer of California. Note that it is not possible for the governer to lynch two out of three person involved in a tie. It's either lynching one person or all.

WINNING:
Zorro and the villagers win if all outlaws are dead. The outlaws will win as soon as they reach parity with the other players.

DEADLINE FOR VOTES IS 20:00 GMT

A vote posted at 19:59 will count. One posted at 20:00 will NOT!
Voting Ends At Deadline Even If Game Moderator Is Not Present!

OTHER RULES:
§1A. - You sign up to the game by requesting so in a post in this thread.
§1B. - No new players will be admitted after the game has started, EXCEPT if substituting for another player.
§1C. - Players are responsible for any Private Messages missed due to inbox being full.

§2. - Orders and votes submitted after deadline are ignored.

§3A. – Players will vote daily. Should they not vote, THEY WILL BE REPLACED. There will be no exceptions unless the Game Moderator states otherwise.
§3B. – Invalid votes (Voting for Game Moderator/Ghosts) will not be accepted.
§3C. – In the event of a TIE, all players tied will be executed, except if the governer rules to only lynch one.
§3D. – Players who are substituted out of the game for not voting will NOT be allowed to substitute for another player.

§4A. - SPECTATORS AND GHOSTS MAY HAUNT, TAUNT AND FLAUNT, BUT NEVER SUGGEST ANY COURSE OF ACTION OR REVEAL ANY INFORMATION. ANY ACTION WHICH CAN AFFECT TO THE OUTCOME OF THE GAME IS FORBIDDEN. ANYONE CAUGHT DOING IT WILL BE *PERMANENTLY* BANNED FROM PARTICIPATION. NO EXCUSES ARE VALID.
§4B. - When doing ghost/spectator commentary, please use a non-white colour.

§5. - Alliances which aren't based on your characters or roles in the game between players are forbidden. Alliances which continue from one game to another undermine the whole idea of the game.

§6. – The Game Moderator has the last word on all matters.

§7. – Players may NOT reproduce the contents of a Private Message from the Game Moderator either publicly or privately. If the player wishes to reveal his/her role, he/she may do so without revealing the Privet Message of the Game Moderator. Should players break this rule, they will be sent back to their country in disgrace.

§8. - Voting must be done in the following way. Write "VOTE" and the person you are voting for in bold text and size four or in bold text and seperate your vote from the rest of your post. For example:

VOTE X

If you wish to un-vote someone, write "UNVOTE":

UNVOTE X, VOTE Y

Any other type of voting is counted as no vote and will make you eligible for subbing. In case of re-voting without un-voting the original vote will be the counted vote.

The first governer of California will be chosen by the people on election day, after that the governer will choose his own successor. I thought this would be fun for several reasons. People will have something to do when waiting for the first night, secondly it throws some extra dynamic into the game. To not make the governer too powerful, he must make his governer votes concerning ties public. To keep some secrecy, his successor is not public knowledge :)

Thank you. You won't be running for governer then and be the master of the tie :p
As tempting as it sounds I'm currently on a break from WW. :)
