We are on the first of march 2023 and this week deeps a bit low on players overall (-4%) and in PDX (-2.8%) (see OP chart updated).

From the big GSG, CKIII only increases players from last week (+1%), the other games lose players CIV V (-1%), EU IV (-3.8%), CIV VI (-4%), HOI IV (-4,8%), Stellaris (-6,5%) and Total War: Warhammer III (-7,2%)

I:R is not exempted and decreases from last week (-6%)

Victoria 3 also has a big dip this week (-8%)

This week marks the release of Victoria 3 1.2 and Stellaris First Contact. There is a huge increase of PDX 24h Peak Players (+17,52%) that increases the overall GSG numbers (+8,48%). Also, Warhammer III had a free weekend that might have had an effect on players this week.

We welcome back Victoria 3 in the chart of the top GSG and we hope is going to stay there for many months to come. The increases are lead by Stellaris (+83.14%), Victoria 3 (+73,14%), Total War: WARHAMMER III (+32,21%), HOI IV (+2.88%) and Sid Meier Civ IV (+2.88%). Some top games decrease slightly EU IV (-0,2%) CKIII (-0,95%) and Sid Meier Civ VI (-4,98%)

I:R also sees a big increase of players (+7,36%), probably due to Invictus DD teasing about an AI rework for tribes.

Thanks for the graph!

Yikes at the Victoria 3 graph. It’s nowhere near as bad as Imperator was but i can see quite A few of the symptoms in that game with Imperator launch

Good day, this week we see an increase of all GSG 24h peak players (+6,17%) although PDX remains stable (-0,40%), see OP for updated chart.

The top games chart shows the weekly increase of CIV VI (+22,50%) and Total Warhammer III (+7,70%). The PDX game leading the increases this week is Stellaris (+5,57%) followed by CK3 (+3,24%) and HOI IV (+1,31%). On the negative we have EU IV (-4,11%), CIV IV (-4,32%) and Victoria 3 (-15,77%).

I:R increases players from last week (+13,05%). The release of a new version of the Lord of the Rings mod can be the reason. It still has a low base but the trend seems sustained.

Am I color blind or Imperator is not on the graph?

He only shows games with more than 10k players daily
Imperator is quite lower than that, but he has the data

it does not show daily players.

it shows ”the highest amount of players that have been logged on in the game within the last 15 or so minutes.”

Good morning, this week there is a slight decrease of GSG 24h peak players for all (-4,80%) and for PDX (-3,11%) as well.

Looking at the top games, we see a huge decrease in Stellaris (-15,96%) probably because the novelty factor from FIRST CONTACT dlc has worn off but still above his normal range. Also a big decrease in Total War: Warhammer III (-10,21%) ahead the release of their new expansion Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs and Civ VI (-9,23%). The other top games decrease much less except for EU IV (+2,16%) and HOIV (+3,76%) that increase their peak players. HOI IV shows a sustained increase in players since october last year when the last expansion By Blood Alone was released, kudos to the team.

PS: I have changed the vertical axis min limit to 5,000 to show the evolution of Victoria 3. The game seems to have reached its base line and can only go up from this. I am not displaying GSG with less than 10,000 24h Peak players to not clutter the chart, as there are other GSG that are above 5,000 24h Peak Players and I am not following them: Total War: THREE KINGDOMS (8,361) TOTAL WAR: ROME II - Emperor Edition (6,134) and TOTAL WAR: WARHAMMER II (5,063).

Imperator: Rome is in line with the other GSG with a slight decrease this week (-3,03%). @KaiserArg the chart showing I:R is the following. As @juanen pointed out, the data is there but I cut the chart to only show games with more than 9,000 24h Peak Players in Steam. I:R is below 1,000 24h Peak Player and the trend for the last 6 months is slightly upward but at this pace (50/6months) it will take 540 years to reach top GSG spot:

Last Wednesday I was away without computer and I only downloaded the data but couldn't post until today. The GSG players have increased +5.21% overall with PDX increasing +6.52% this week.

All top GSG gain players this week except for CIV V that loses -0.24% compared to last week. This week winners are HOI IV (+14.77%), CIV VI (+14.17%), CK3 (+6,08%) EU IV (+2,91%), Total War: Warhammer III (+0,27%) and Stellaris (+0,21%).

Bizarrely, I:R has lost -14,88% of its 24h peak players this week.

Victoria 3 still under the chart limit for top GSG this week with a decrease of -1,83% players from last week.

Welcome back fellow students, this week seems to get back to the mean from last week gains, overall (-5,05%) and PDX (-6,12%). Could be that Easter, Passover, Ramadan or other holidays gave players more time to play last week?

The TOP GSG 24h Peak players this Wednesday it is also a reverse from last week. Only one game remains stable, CK III (+0,08%) while the others decrease players: Stellaris (-11%), HOI IV (-7,57%), Total War: Warhammer III (-7,08%), EU IV (-5,97%), CIV VI (-5,31%) and CIV V (-1,14%).

I:R recovers some players since last week (+5.24%). Izn, a modder in the Invictus team has contributed this week 69th DD with amazing content for the game.

Victoria 3 loses steam this week (-10.49%). Economists were never the most popular back at school but I enjoy very much the game and last week DD was promising.

I have only tangentially related question: how do games like Dwarf Fortress compare to this? I mean, the ideal of unaccessible niche game.

Good afternoon, this week there is a big jump in GSG 24h peak players! Overall (+6,75%) and PDX (+23,00%).

The main drive for PDX is explained by the Europa Universalis IV (+67,65%) release of Domination from the larger than life Johan and PDX Tinto. Followed by Total War: Warhammer III (+58,27%) after the release of Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs. Except CK III (+15,90%) the release of these two expansions has affected all other top GSG that have decreased their players from last week: Sid Meier Civ V (-0,67%), Sid Meier Civ VI (-7,02%), HOI IV (-7,71%) and Stellaris (-12,93%).

1681916031632.png

I:R also loses players this week (-12,46%)

Victoria 3 is also affected by the release of the expansion (-18,04%) that can take 4-8 weeks from the peak to recover some players.
