CK3 Dev Diary #66 - A Fresh Coat of Paint
Greetings!

The sun is out, and we’ve all been enjoying pristine Azure skies during the Swedish midsummer celebrations. Or, well, a few of us have! Some members of the team got to enjoy a massive downpour of rain (which is customary, to be fair), and others even got to experience a refreshing storm of hail. Speaking of Azure, we’re releasing another small patch today which addresses a handful of issues (most notably some stability concerns):
  • Fixed unpause issues in multiplayer if choosing to continue in single player after network out of sync on 1.4.2
  • Fixed crash on save and progressive dynasty and title coat of arms disappearing
  • Fixed UI lists refresh, allowing to access characters for some interactions when they should not be available (i.e.: you could grant vassal to your liege characters from other realms)
  • Fixed crash happening after starting a fort assault during a crusade on a long playthrough save on 1.4.2

Beginning next week a majority of the team will be going on summer vacation, which means that it’ll be mostly deserted for the next five weeks. In practice this means that the next few Dev Diaries won’t be as meaty as the ones that came before. You can think of them more as teasers than proper Dev Diaries. When we’re back we’ll of course resume having more substantial ones!

With that being said, we don’t want to leave you empty handed. Summer vacation doesn’t start until next week after all. Some of you might have noticed in the previous Dev Diary that we had a small square at the top of the window when creating a hybrid or a divergent culture, showing a colour. This is of course a preview of the colour your new culture will have when it’s created. Clicking it allows you to change and set the colour of your culture exactly as you want it!

But we didn’t stop there! We added this new and wonderful tool in a couple of other places as well. As when creating a culture, we've added it for creating a new faith too.

You'll also be able to change the colour when customizing a title. No longer will you have to settle on the colour the game picks for you when creating a custom kingdom or empire! Especially when that colour turns out to be neon pink... You can edit the colour for any title you hold or is held by your vassals, similar to how you are allowed to edit the name & adjective for titles in your realm. Yes, this means that you can make your vassal lands sport a cavalcade of colour if you so desire!

That's it for today, I'm afraid. While this might be a fairly small addition in the grand scheme of things, we do think it’s a nice and flavourful tool that lets you customize your experience more than before!

When I saw title, "A fresh coat of paint", I was nearly sure that is about Coat of Arms designer ;) but, oh well ;) this is also nice, smaller, tiny feature but giving more customization options and flavor to the map :) nice!
create ur Coat Of Arms will be so cool

Alas, it does not. A proper Coat of Arms designer is still very high up on my wishlist of things I want us to get around to, so it's certainly something we'll add at some point. The only question is when.
Free! We tend to add these type of QoL features as a part of a patch.
Though you cannot create cultures without Royal Court, so picking a colour for cultures is obviously not gonna be a thing without the DLC.
coat of arms customization should also be free

Please let us pick the color of our clothing too! It would add so much variety to the customization options in the game and will be so useful when the Game of Thrones mod comes out!
Yep, I had an Irish King decked out in gold and haven't seen it since. I would love to be able to manually chose it

More customization optiions are always good.

Now add ability to customise dynasty coat of arm.
I have a feeling that's probably coming, but later since it's more complicated to implement.

I've been wanting to customize the color of my titles since I first started playing Crusader Kings 2. Small change, but very welcome in my mind!

Dear developers,

1) will it be possible to send your ambassadors to the courts of other rulers? For example, you have 10 ambassadors in stock and send them to choose from in order to influence someone else's court. Ambassadors are part of the royal court. The current priest at the court, who is appointed by the Pope, is just the Vatican independent ambassador to the royal court. Foreign royal court can be hidden from the player. The player's ambassador will become a spy.

2) Do you have any plans to create a conclave? I would like to create priests (upgrade to cardinals), influence the election of the Pope, receive benefits (if my cardinal was elected), spread religion outside of my kingdom ... The Pope should have more influence on the life of Europe (to demand for someone to be expelled or executed, to demand for renounced the crown, to give consent to marriage, to be angry if you enter into an alliance with non-catholics). PS. Created priests-missionaries will be ruled by you unlike independent priest-ambassador.

3) Do you have any plans to create ships (navies) separate from armies? You can create a courtier "Admiral". New building "Port". Orders for the admiral: increase the capacity of ships; increase the strength or speed of movement of ships; guarding borders from pirates (as an order to increase control on land)

@Kvelen, I would say that this is not quite the place to ask these specific questions as they are not in any way related to the dev diary's content (and, while the first could at least be framed as related to the DLC, the other two can't even claim that). Furthermore, your third question has been a sore topic since before the game's release (look up "I'm NOT on a boat" megathread), and your second question clearly relates to a perspective of church-focused (or religion-focused) DLC in general.
