Hearts of Iron 3 Multiplayer games ?

I was just wondering if there still is any communities that still actively play this game instead of HOI4, I personally don't enjoy the simplistic style of HoI4 and have reverted back to HoI3 but its kind of boring playing against the AI over and over again.

I've managed to run my own LAN game for my AAR, but that's about all I get out of it. If I had friends who were closer/involved in the time sink, then I'd be down. I've only tried once (about a year ago) to get on with someone on an internet game, but the system--suffice it to say--was not built with a robust capability in mind.

Sure, we're wrapping up a campaign at the moment so you could join the last sessions as a minor, just to get a feel for it (and us), and then be able to play from the start in the next campaign we do.

The caveat is that, as you might expect, we're playing BlackICE multiplayer, not vanilla.

I have been playing HOI3 for years. I've been using a Surface Pro 4. I just upgraded to Surface Pro 6 now I keep getting a directX error.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

I tried Deleting everything within "map-cache" folder.

Hi @RonCari

You may try to install directX 9.0c manually. I know the game needs it to be installed to run properly. It may not be included in latest windows releases.
