Proper Iranian Names​

As you may be able to guess, the purpose of this mod is to de-Hellenise/de-Greekify the Iranian names in the game. At the moment the Persian cultural group is the only group affected; the other Iranian groups will likely be done as well.

This mod does not change the setup within the Persian cultural group, as I believe that changing the cultural setup is best left to large overhaul mods.
This mod also does not affect defined characters, so as to maintain compatibility with other mods (fortunately there's not many characters to alter in the first place).


Currently compatible for vanilla patch 1.1.1 (Pompey)

Could you also rename the Persian group to "Iranian", and change the name of the local culture of Pars to Persian?

I'll have a look at the localisation files and see what they're like.

The culture in Pars is mostly "Pasargadi", probably named for Pasargadae. It's obvious that they just had no proper name for the locals because "Persian" had been clumsily adopted for the whole culture group.

I was referring to how the localisation actually works in Imperator.
There could be a case made for keeping the group name as Persian. Iranian would imply that the group was ethno-linguistic, whereas Persian implies a political-cultural focus based on the Achaemenid Persian Empire.

Mesopotamia is already excluded from the group despite being more central to the Achaemenids than anywhere in Anatolia. It IS an ethnolinguistic group, with a grab-bag of extra cultures lumped in because they didn't have anywhere else to go. And besides, Persian is Iranian, so the extended Persianate world is already included in the name. Not to mention it accurately applies to the same cultural world that orbited around the Parthians, despite them not being Persian.

Just a heads up: this mod is still compatible with patch 1.1.1. I'm about to check compatibility for the 1.2 beta.
