How quickly time goes by! Steel Division: Normandy 44 is about to turn one (aww), and it has been a busy year! First of all, we wanted to thank you all for your ongoing support during all this time. Thanks to your feedback and your involvement, we were able to continuously support the game with free content during all this year, including game modes, 6 Attack/Defense scenarios, Historical Mission playable in coop, new units and aces...

Now it's time to celebrate this first anniversary properly with a gift: First Blood, the new free update available right now, adds two new divisions, the 1st Infantry Division "Big Red One" and the 1. SS-Panzerdivision "LSSAH"! And, cherry on the cake, we're also unlocking two aces, previously available for special events: Pierre Clostermann and Willy Kretzschmar!

We've also worked on balance with the help of selected members of our community, here's the complete changelog:

NEW CONTENT
  • New Division: 1st Infantry Division "Big Red One"
  • New Division: 1. SS-Panzerdivision "LSSAH"
  • Unlocked ace: Pierre Clostermann (2e DB)
  • Unlocked ace: Willy Kretzschmar (12. SS-Panzer)

FIXES
  • Fixed the issue with towed guns not apply low-resolution options.
  • Fixed the bug with the historical missions (Rangers lead the way)'s KM-Führer not providing command bonus.

Have fun, and again, a big warm thank you from the Eugen Systems' Team!

And what have you done with "medium" AI? I decided to test my newly created battle-group (1st Infantry) in a quick skirmish against "medium" AI and lost only 20 points (in units worth)... Are you making it less challenging with each patch?

And looking at patch notes 'baled out' bug haven't been fixed again!?! It's now almost 5 months since you introduced it as a Christmas "present" and it looks like we will have to wait till next Christmas till it gets finally fixed...

Great! Thank you for your hard work! The conquest 52% is nice. Good that you listened to the community!

i am a fairly new player and like the game really a lot.

but the 4th armored "nerf" is not enough. I hoped for more conisdering the are by far the best division? Just one inf less per card? did you change nothing besides that considering the Hellcat spam e.g.? i think it doesnt need much. just remove the hellcats from phase a or make them a bit more expensive.

Other than that, great game!

Minor wish: Could you add a slow game speed on multiplayer? I am an old casual player, and the normal speed is just too hectic for me and i think a lot of newbies.

Had to read up the bailed out bug, you mean the half implemented way of just having it sit there?

Would be nice and easy to actually flesh out the mechanic. Eugen?!

Other than that I'm thankful for the free patch. Can't really speak on the balancing too much, but seems minor from what I can tell?! Nothing groundbreaking...

Wonderful. tysm. Other balance changes look good too; looking forward to trying out the new divisions.

There's a bug where a bailed out vehicle that receives a mobility crit will move.
