That was quite fast.

The limiting factors for a fast WC are monarch points, coring time, rebels, AE, force limit, manpower, money, and the New World. The HRE vassal swarm solves all military and money bottlenecks. Vassals also reduce the OE, manpower, and monarch point burden of their overload.

Kazan was chosen for their ideas and starting location. Kazani ideas are the best in the game due to their frontloaded CCR and tolerance ideas. Starting with a European capital close to Catholic land is ideal for a fast revoke and reaching Asia sooner post revoke.

The run has two stages. The focus before 1500 will be to revoke the privilegia as soon as possible. The focus after will be to conquer the world as quickly as possible.

A speed WC requires tremendous attention to detail. Every aspect of the game from trade, general economics, estates, diplomacy, down to where each individual unit is moved to at any given time needs to be micromanaged. Early game was played at 2x-3x, post-revoke 2x only until the last years.

The AAR is divided into eight chapters:

1. 1444 - 1471: Catholic Rush
2. 1471 - 1487: Becoming Emperor
3. 1487 - 1502: Abdication and Revoke
4. 1502 - 1517: Asian Expansion
5. 1517 - 1534: Manchurian Trucebreaks
6. 1534 - 1548: Hindu Arabia
7. 1548 - 1558: Africa and the New World
8. 1558 - 1568: End game

There are two starting requirements for this run: one of the generals must have 3 shock pips, and Nogai must only have a minor as an ally before Dec. 11 1444.

On day 1, set rivals, use estate interactions, ally Uzbek. Army micro is especially important in the beginning as manpower needs to be conserved to keep up with constant wars. Always shift consolidate before every battle, no exceptions. No need to shift consolidate after as reinforcement rate should be maximized. The cost for reinforcing from 0 to 1000 is about 60% cheaper for regular units compared to building anew, but around the same for mercs.

Declare on Nogai Dec.11, full occupy. Declare on Muscovy after. Open up a path to Livonian Order. The goal for the first 10 years is to spawn Catholic zealots asap.

10.jpg

Novgorod losing to Denmark and Muscovy. Had to make sure to occupy the provinces needed to border LO and to get enough war score.

14.jpg

Taking Novogorod gives a nice trade boost early on.

11.jpg

Teutonic Order winning vs. Poland.

The "snake" of Kazan needs fattening, as it were.

TO declines call to arms from LO.

15.jpg

Due to the lack of early game siege ability, I take only 4 provinces from LO, three of Estonian culture, one of Latvian. After they're cored, two missionaries are sent to the Estonian provinces. Once zealot progress reaches 30% the missionaries recalled and sent to the other two provinces. Rebel type cannot change once it reaches 30% progress. With this method Catholic zealots can be spawned from four provinces using only two missionaries. Note this only works if the source of Separatist rebels is less than or equal to the number of missionaries available. If Estonian rebel progress from the unconverted province reaches 30%, it would need to be brought down with harsh treatment before sending a missionary.

16.jpg

Pretender rebels rise up in Lithuania after the TO war. The rebels occupy Vilna and breaks the Poland PU. I DoW immediately after and take 100 war score of land quickly.

Aside from strategic interest, the provinces demanded are picked according to development and razing efficiency. The razing gain/war score ratio should be maximized. Lower development is usually better. All European Christian provinces are worth 1 IA when added thus quantity is favored over quality. The chart comes from Siu King's signature.

DoW Great Horde and Transoxiana after Lithuania. Two fronts two armies.

20.jpg

Professionalism needs to be raised eventually, but only after manpower catches up. Slack standards until then.

21.jpg

Tributaries are being gathered for later. I prefer ducat tribute for 6/year or over, tweaked based on need. No tributary should ever have less than 25% liberty desire.

Catholic zealots spawn. They favor unrest and will convert separatist rebel progress. The newly cored Great Horde provinces provide the unrest needed for more rebel stacks.

23.jpg

The HRE is close to the first reform. Lower IA means lower modifier for elector backing.

24.jpg

Ottoman alliance soon.

25.jpg

Dip tech tanked for gold and diplo idea group.

26.jpg

Nogai is killed off when truce ends. DoW Muscovy again after. The order of early wars will depend on truce timers.

27.jpg

Debasing becomes cheaper than loaning when effective dev is lower than ~50%. Debasing is profitable at 42% effective autonomy. Varies slightly by dip tech. During wars, lower maintenance as often as possible. No need to fight stray stacks with full morale and no need for maintenance at all when there's no army to fight. No war taxes early. Mothball enemy forts whenever possible. They are one of the biggest wartime money drains.

29.jpg

Diplo first not just for HRE. Kazan gets 25% CCR as 2nd national idea. Filling up six ideas is much faster with dip than with adm. ADM techs 5 and 7 are close together, thus Diplo first will actually reach both 25CCR and 50CCR quicker than going adm idea group first.

The enemy will unsiege zealot occupied provinces which delays conversion, but they will also run into zealot stacks. LO is declared on as soon as truce ends to prevent a coalition. Luckily the truce bug did not occur this run.

30.jpg

Taking Transoxiana leads to more Indian tributaries. Every diplomat should be working always. Improve relations with potential allies and tributaries during war, recall all diplomats before peace deal, make tributaries on the same day with dip rep advisor. Time is of the essence.

31.jpg

Teutonic Order is a nonbelligerent. I take a province anyway to border Pomerania/HRE for adding land to the HRE once reaching empire rank.

32.jpg

Could have converted sooner, but more Catholic provinces = more land to add = more IA and higher religious unity = lower unrest and lower stability cost = cheaper truce breaks.

33.jpg

Forts are taken from Muscovy, saving the low development land for the next war.

34.jpg

Ottoman alliance is needed later for HRE and Shadow Kingdom.

35.jpg

1469 conversion. No need to unoccupy every province, only centers of trade.

North/South Germany maps are asked for before converting. Need both regions to see every elector. Countries in fog of war do not get AE, but in this case the maps are required for getting elector backing. Alliance + improved relations/military access/gift/influence nation + RM + dip rep from Diplo idea group and reduce OE mission + prestige from wars and tributaries should be enough to overcome the -50 modifier for being outside of the HRE.

37.jpg

25 CCR from Kazani ideas, unlocked with dip.

38.jpg

One of the key strategies to the run is primary culture shifts. With only 25 CCR, having Muscovite as primary culture reduces East Slavic coring time to .75*36*.5 = 13.5 months, which is faster than coring non primary/accepted culture provinces with 60 CCR. This will be essential to mid game expansion.

Ways to remove estates:

1.) Once state limit increases, half state up to the limit. The loyalty hit will be mitigated by the amount of stated development. Unstate the half states after when granting provinces.
2.) Full state provinces that will be released as vassals, assign estates, release vassal. Estates don't take loyalty hit even though the land is given away.
3,) Make use of loyalty events, plan ahead.

39.jpg

Tributaries, 6/year or over = ducat tribute.

40.jpg

Ruler death chance spikes at 61. Four elector backing is safe, three can work but not as reliable when overextended.

100 WS from Lithuania when truce ends, cutting off Poland with more low development provinces.

42.jpg

Not eligible for Curia Controller yet.

43.jpg

4/4/5 after initial heir/king dies. Ruler stats are nice but not very useful. Monarch points are cheap to early game hordes. The tolerance trait does save some manpower.

44.jpg

Started boosting professionalism once manpower caught up. 60 is the goal for returned manpower when disbanding.

Dow Crimea for access and potential IA. Friendly Ottomans will spread Renaissance to the region.

46.jpg

1476 emperor. Friedrich III dies at 61. A way to beat the finish date with the same strategy aside from improving micro mistakes is to get an earlier death.

47.jpg

Tech 7 soon for second idea group. Dip tanked until Diplo idea group is finished. Razing gain used to decrease by 4% for every tech above 3, but has been changed to above tech 8.

48.jpg

Took out a loan by accident.

Burgundian Inheritance in 1478, almost immediately after becoming emperor. I did not RM or even have vision of Burgundy. This allowed for a few rich HRE tributaries and enough development to embrace Renaissance.

50.jpg

Lithuania exploded after the first war. While mopping up their minors I white peaced Muscovy to shorten truce. Another 100 WS of land + money in 1479.

51.jpg

Danzig borders the HRE which makes all European Kazani provinces eligible.

52.jpg

Need to open up a path through Hungary next to take care of Shadow Kingdom. The IA difference between completing and ignoring Shadow Kingdom is exactly 4.8 IA over 10 years. This is insignificant. The only advantages to completing it are to save time later and have a few more vassals after the revoke. The choice to go for it depended on alliance patterns and that the Pope was cut down by Florence already.

More wars in Timurids/Iranian region. The faster I get to India the more time it saves later.

54.jpg

Almost 10 favors.

55.jpg

Gutted Pope.

56.jpg

Early elector alliances already reached 10 favors. I decide not to wait for the Ottomans before declaring on Hungary/Austria.

57.jpg

Weak Timurids, but their alliances are annoying.

58.jpg

Guge tributary sent out a CtA, can't decline due to dip rep.

59.jpg

Admin was picked second for CCR. Only two ideas need to be filled from the group, thus making it easier to switch out for Exploration. This took a while to plan. Other candidates were Humanist or Quantity.

Full war score from Hungary. Istra is taken to fabricate claims on the Pope. Italian minors in the war are peaced out for money asap.

61.jpg

Timurids deal, forts + access to other tags.

64.jpg

Guge gets annexed by U-Tsang while fighting Nepal. Nepal is too far and so tributaries are ceded to end the war. There's another reason for this which will be explained later. The number is 1/4 per dev. This is an old but rarely used mechanic that has not been updated post MoH.

62.jpg

Enough provinces are added for the third reform. The rest will be saved for later.

65.jpg

66.jpg

The capital is moved to Tirgoviste for faster diplomat travel time and lower development capital state.

67.jpg

Declared on Pope after claims are fabricated, TO when their truce ended.

68.jpg

Imerti for expansion path to QQ and Ottomans.

70.jpg

Shadow Kingdom completed in 1486. Rome was given back after.

71.jpg

One war for Shadow Kingdom. Curious readers can check the game files and the clues in the screenshots for why. Another post-MoH oversight.

Very detailed mapping, I love it.

What are the biggest RNG blocks that can end your run?

Obviously Austria dying too early and the crown going over to the Palatinate or Bavaria would mean starting a new run and Lit being independent isn't important at all. From experience, what's the worst RNG stuff (alliances, etc.) that would end it?

As for Otto favors, would it pay off to tentacle to Dulkadir first, cutting off the Ottos in the east and getting favors after being called in by them?

I used it as Hisn Kayfa to farm 40 favors by eating attrition on sieges, increasing my war participation to sth around 70%.

Shouldn't delay Persia, or would it? Slightly RNG dependent obviously, but getting 40 favors with Ottos removes waiting for 10 to hit and reduces their number of provinces later.

Additionally it gives you more christian (Orthodox) provinces to add.

Anyone in discord mentioned or even tried it yet?

Nothing would end it, only delay. If the HRE crown is passed to a minor, they would be made a tributary and the rest of the plan would carry out similarly. Lithuania independence is helpful but not necessary. It would just mean a longer war. The worst RNG thus far would be something like a Denmark alliance with LO which usually doesn't happen. But again it would just delay, not kill the run.

No time to be dragged into wars I'm not taking land from. Ottoman expansion is unimportant as it would just mean lower war score cost for their European provinces for the price of a stronger Ottoman. The European/HRE wars are on strict timers for a fast revoke, calling the Ottomans in to all of them would not save much time.
