FIRE EMBLEM 4 PRELUDE

- After the Dark Dragon's earthly puppets Emperor Galle I-XVII were defeated their empire was given to the victors, namely the twelve Crusaders who founded kingdoms in the midst. Saint Heim established the Kingdom of Grandbell, installed House Belhalla as the ruling nobles, and awarded dukedoms (Chalphy, Jungby, Velthomer, Freege, Dozel, and Edda) to those of the Twelve who were closest to him (Holy Knight Baldur, Hunter Ulir, Mage Fighter Fjalar, Mage Knight Thrud, Warrior Neir, and Archbishop Blaggi) respectively. These are the characters of our story.

- Of the other six, the sibling crusaders Dain and Noba moved east to establish their own community among the the fertile soils, fields of the Manster District and the majestic mountain wilds and steep valleys of the untamed Thracian Peninsula. In this time-line the Tragedy of the Gáe Bolg does not happen. They play differing roles.

- Sety, known in Silessian as Ced, and Od had other ideas, one wandering north into the frigid tundra and the other venturing across the scorching desert wastes to the north-east, eventually founding what would later become the Kingdoms of Silesse and Isaach, respectively.

- The Black Knight Hezul charged westward in search of new battles to wet his thirsty blade, uniting several lordships in the area which later formed into the Dominion of the Lords of Agustria. He plays a role in our story.

- Other communities not founded by a Crusader began springing up in places such as the forests and marshes of Verdane. Miletos, an area ripe with trade opportunities for sea-faring merchants, began reviving the past Grann Republican traditions.

Of course evil had intent whereas now there was none. The Empire had been advanced in technology, despite being powered by naive blood. The Mairists who inspired the twelve Crusaders were spirited but quasi-savage in the forests of Verdanne where they had been exiled. Without twelve unforeseen dragons betraying Loytr and led by Naga engaging in blood transfusion with the Crusaders they would have never won. The genetics in these middle aged men and women would lead to a new world order.

I know nothing about this mod - will be very interesting to follow.

Chapter 1
Chapter 1 Ced

Sety received his powers from a dragon who was named Forseti. Forseti was a dragon most enamoured by humanity and bound his essence in the spellbook of Holsety, exactly like how the dark dragon bound himself to the cursed Lopyr Tome. Due to conditions ranging from climate charge, natural selection or Anima cursing - dragons eventually could only survive in a twisted human form. For those who couldn't stomach the loss of statue they embedded their power and will into objects. Forsetti's power was leaned on to conquer Silessia which was still tribal. His subjects got Sety, For-Seti and Hol-Sety confused as royal dignity sprouted from ability to erase vast lands rather his stature or ability.

Picture 4: Demonstration of Sety executing a shaman.

He took Iliana, known as the scholar, from the tundra state of Phinora as bride. She was Pechna's mother who is the main character of the story. Princess Pechna was born in 653. Iiana received her she was eloping with younger men from her court. These men would travel to the Islands of Ogyrll and pirate the pan-Kingdom efforts to supply materials to construct towers in Saint Maira's homeland. The prize were the construction materials that were being sent by Saint Heim to fashion the Blaggi Tower, named after Archbishop Blaggi. This debris would be sold in Silesia. It was vicious and a cycle. It was a second miracle that Pechna was of her father's brood as her brother wasn't and Ced knew.

Sety died in 659 at the age of forty three. He was on campaign. His subjects whispered that Holsety had drained his life-force, which later we be discovered to be the exact opposite. Dragonblood as observed outside the stresses of kingship prolongs life. It was just the inability of these heroic Crusaders to stop killing that cut down their lifespan considerably.

I have a feeling that this is going to be good!
I'm an old hand in this AAR business. So I'll try to deliver.
Knowing little of Fire Emblem, I'm curious about how this mod works. Subscribed.
Essentially 12 characters have holy blood gifted by dragons and their descendants can inherit minor and major blood. Just nowbody knows when or who. In addition there is a class system and other bits and bobs. Sadly the story isn't implemented yet which is why this is a one-shot prelude.

Glad to have someone reading.
If this mod doesn't feature an event where your King gets possessed by a dragon and turns to goo I will be dissapointed.
This DOES happen in the Fire Emblem 6/7 scenario and the results are fun. The mod is super speedy ATM so give it a shot.

So they have increased power but it drives them into danger?

Yes and no. The Noba Holy lance the Gáe Bolg does have a curse that leads Thracia becoming divided in the Nintendo game. It actually is avoided until a descendant has no choice to use it. This AAR is set before so Thracia is one united Kingdom. Also the dragons can possess users who rely too much on their weapons if they disagree with how they use them which happens. But in general violence leads to danger.

Very flowery script.

Chapter 2
Chapter 2 Grannvale

The innovation of the Duchy, either by force or course ensured nothing like a 1000 year dynasty would ever befall Jugdral. Saint Heim realized that, thanks to landing his companions, he had created a tipsy-turvy structure devoid of the checks-and-balances in the late Grann Republic. As half the Crusaders were in his realm he wrought crude projects to appear first of six: sweeping the Ogyrl Islands from pirates, intervening in hapless Miletos and building the tulip shaped palaces of his capital. This did little to advance power in the Central Kingdom and lead to crisis. In 655 half his sworn men died trying to stop the peoples of the Yied Desert from unifying under the Verdanne crown. Pettiness and jealously definitely went hand in hand and would unravel the band.

Picture 6: A scan of a card depicting the Blaggi Tower.

Despite having a tower constructed in his name Blaggi wanted more. He openly wanted to be Theocrat and rename the country Eddabell to prop up the new draconian faith. Grann confusingly was the name of the pagan god and Heim, unsuprisingly in Blaggi's view, had no heirs. In January 656 Blaggi rebelled and Heim had wearily to turn the sword against a fellow crusader. Before this vendetta could be complete Heim, advancing in age, entered the coffin and Fjalar, of house Velthomer, took possession of the central kingdom. This is where the Hezul "The Black Knight" Agust storms into history, conquering and feudalizing the Westward fiefdoms of Agusty he swallowed precious metals like Lopyr did children. After robbing his vassals and terrorizing the rich interior he looked to the external: Grannvale. He demands Grannvale aid him with a tribute to mold his cathedrals and bribe his new Dukes. Queen Fjalar after consulting with the pacified Blaggi married the Holy Crusader Neir and consummated in March 656. The eight year war had begun.

Picture 7: Queen Fjalar Velthommer and Neir Dozel marry.

The Eight Year war was regarded by the Silesian council as a way to solidify a state of neutrality. Silesia was weaker than the other kingdoms and despite an expansion that brought Phinora into orbit it was vulnerable to attack. Silesse could muster a mere 1000 footsoldiers while Isaac in the East could field twice and Grandbell* thrice. The heir of Isaac prince Brandwaldzar was promptly betrothed to Princess Pechna and likely could have inherited if his name wasn't so funny.

*Grannvale, Grandbell and Grannbell are interchangable. Silesse and Silesia are also used depending on translation. Grann is the name of the Earthern god while Vellhala is the name of the imperial capital. Yet the bells that adorn Grannvale and the wide plains throw the etymology into air.

Not knowing the background I am not entirely sure what is going on, but I hope to piece it all together in time.

Chapter 3
Chapter 3: Princess Pechna

Picture 10: Princess Pechna

Princess Pechna became aware of the Kingdom at six years of age. Her mother, ever the pragmatist, left her with Forsetti in the cradle and told the guards anyone who attempted malice would be burnt instantaneously by dragonfire. The kingdom was ruled by agreement of a shaky council. Her regent, the treasurer Kazimierz, owed his work to Ced and they were fabulously rich. The council was put together by his testament, men selected by their ill health. Pechna enjoyed poetry and rummaging through her father's writings. One day she read that her brother was a bastard and would never inherit Forsetti's holy blood. After informing her Chancellor Katarzyna she saw by her icy reaction she was alone in the world.

Picture 11: Portraits of the Council of Pechna. A spymaster was disavowed due to potential danger.

It is hard to imagine how Pechna felt knowing this secret. You can suppose Pechna rushed to get Forsetti and flipped through the pages, tearing out a page of its delicate pages by mistake as evidence suggests. She tried to kill her Steward's pegasus to no avail. "Loytr's teeth.", She cried. "Am I a bastardess too?". She was blond-green like her father, while her younger brother was reddened. Especially after she told him. After crying for days she ordered her chancellor to marry her stable-boy and spent one tenth of the census tax on the wedding.

A hard lesson to learn so young.

Chapter 4
CHAPTER 4 FRIENDSHIP

After losing her a jade vest in a bog Pechna decided to make some friends. Magdalena daughter of the Duke of Thove was ordered to Silesse to be her study partner. One day, the night after her birthday she caught Treasurer Kazimierz loading bags of money AWAY from the Palace. All her life she had suspected her regent of taking coins from her toy budget and keeping it in a box somewhere. She wrote down the incident in amazing detail. From then on she kept writing: poetry, songs, instructions for preserving ice - she wrote so much that she caught Kazimierz robbing her again when she returned for paper. She ran to the guards a few days later but couldn't remember what day she had caught him. It had been a year.

Picture 13: Missing ledgers from Duke Kazimierz's stewardship.

She went to her friend Magdalena and tried to explain, but it was like she was saying past events as she didn't get anything but polite replies. She then undid Magdalena's hair and they talked about anything but. She burnt her books. Exactly one month after her guards buried the ash under her carrot garden she felt an itch. She talked with Magdalena about sores, hair and swirls but this wasn't it. Only in her royal bath before the Earthern holiday of Cull did a retainer confirm this mark wasn't maidenhood. A physician drew blood from her thin wrists and remarked how it matched the shades of destruction cast by the Tome of Forsetti. That weekend she began spear training.
