Looks great, but...

This is mainly an overhaul of the UI, right? Two things I was hoping that were going to announced were the fixing of the teleporting of air wings to the target province and back (eg you can't intercept bombers on the way to the target) and most importantly to me, the training of air wings/gaining of experience.

Is this something that is being considered for the future?

There is no new interception in-between zones no. The thing with that is that in almost all situations planes end up being able to come from all sorts of directions and its a really difficult thing to get right interaction wise with players. So it would require a huge effort to get right and have fairly limited end result, so we decided we didn't have time for that. Doesn't mean we never do it though.
As for training, yea that would be cool for sure. As I said see this as step one and we'll do more air stuff in the future.

Can we rename the air wings now? Will there be any experience-like bonuses for air wings? Any reason to keep, reinforce and relocate existing wings rather than disbanding and re-forming air units? Will they get any "specialisation" like generals (meaning that for example some wing gets extra-good at bomber interception and then I post it to protect my key industries). Also, will it be possible to set wings to receive a specific equipment model? For example I might wish to produce a standart-specification fighter for units in less-important theaters of war and a more expensive more powerful model that will go to elite units or units at key areas (this is especially so with mods where there are more air equipment models).
Finally - will we see any improvement in Allied strategic bombing? I just don't see AI doing anything that is even remotely threatening to my industry or infra at the moment.

This is a very needed overhaul of the air UI but I have to agree with @adski42 . Nothing changed regarding the teleport issue is very unfortunate.

Has the balance or air combat system been changed at all? Has the naval air system been changed at all?

Actually IRL Allies had very good results against GER Me262 units by posting a more-or-less constant CAP at or near German long-runway airbases and catching Me262 when they were landing or taking flight and thus had low speed and limited manouver options.

Nice improvements. Really looking forward to getting to grips with the air war in 1.4

There is a however .... Have you done anything about teleporting planes? This is my single biggest air complaint. Can we specify what plane models can go in a wing? building long range fighters for the Pacific to only have them reinforce Europe is very annoying. Is there a way to direct CAS to a specific part of a front such as where my tanks are trying to break through?

One question, in that radar screenshot, I'm assuming those values are just the coverage of that one radar station. Is there a way to see the total coverage of an area from all radar stations? Even if it's just visual.

Also, in that same screenshot, what's that little blue flag next to the airfield in France? I don't see it anywhere else.

The little blue flag indicates that its an allied base. As for radar, no there is no way, you can see multiple now and tooltip the ones that overlap. Detection will summarize radar impact though when observing combats etc

That might be the first meaningful improvement of the game. It looks actually really good.

If you're gonna add an actual supply system in the game and make the AI non-retarded (live streams suggest, that AI is still dumb af), I may be able to convince myself to buy the game. With the pace you're going, that's 2-3 years from now.

Two things:
1. Air wings should be trained like divisions
2. If you got your bombers in N France and want to bomb S England and UK has its fighters in the English Channel will those fighters intercept your bombers?

Sry, i v seen it now. The answer is no, maybe in the future

Is there going to be NATO- style counters of the new aircraft symbols?

Afraid not. The NATO symbols for different aircraft types aren't very easy to distinguish on icons that size and they don't really cover all our use cases.

If you look at other wargames, both computer and tabletop, very few use NATO-style symbols for aircraft. In fact, most of them just use stylized airplanes instead.
