The Pelx are slowly collapsing, but the Soviets prepare as best they can. I can'be long until the Swarm and robots meet one another in battle, and the fate of the galaxy depends on them wiping each other out.

Let's not forget about the Swarm fleet heading for Earth. :p

It's funny how the character focus is mostly on the Soviets and the Pelx despite the Cybrex being the Swarm's main opponent here. Our protagonists are ineffective. :D

Like all protagonists in stories, ours are still alive and have a chance, no matter how small. :p

Chapter 131

Kravryp was informed about the allied fleets that were said to arrive at the battlefield in an hour or so. Thus far, there were only a few minor skirmishes as the two side gauged the strength of the opposition. The Pelx leader wasn't pleased with the fact that the robots were gaining valuable intelligence of his side. He feared that they were likely coming up with countermeasures right this moment.

He, like the other Pelx only heard about the reputations of the Cybrex. This group was dangerous due to their ability to adapt quickly for different situation. Their adaptability made them valuable allies at one point but their growing strength soon drew out their ambitions. The Cybrex weren't content on just eliminating the Swarm which was their original prime objective. The robots soon wanted to destroy all organic life.

As a result, the Cybrex began a crusade where, as soon as the Swarm was eliminated, they would proceed to eliminating their former allies. Upon learning about this betrayal, the coalition secretly worked on a project which eventually sealed away the Cybrex. Unfortunately, they were unable to do so before the Swarm was fully wiped out which ultimately resulted in their current development where both the Swarm and the Cybrex threatened all life.

In truth, Kravryp and the other coalition members didn't expect themselves to win against the Cybrex fleet. That would be a long shot they never even considered. Instead, the brave soldiers fighting the Cybrex were sent as a delaying tactic while the Pelx activated their backup plan for these doomsday scenarios. Their plan involved a dimensional gate which would take them away from this galaxy and hopefully gave them time to find a solution to the two scourges of the universes.

The other civilizations joined because Kravryp promised their people would benefit from the dimensional gate as well. While it saddened Kravryp that he had to resort to such a plan, there was nothing in his arsenal that stood even a remote chance against the Cybrex, let alone the Swarm said to be closing in on their homeworld. Only a few hours were needed before the gate was ready and they could begin their evacuation.

Well that's one way to solve that problem...

Unless this dimensional gate is insanely huge, they're not going to get a lot of their race through it without panic or simply running out of time.

A dimensional gate to escape as a doomsday plan is definitely better than mass suicide and taking the entire galaxy with you in the process. :p

I'm sure there are other less ideal ways. :p

I'm sure they planned out it well ahead of time. :p

Different races, different methods. :p

Chapter 132

After his attack glanced off the carapace, Heinrich had to dodge the other mutant elephant. He narrowly dodged each time but his new body apparently had physical limits. He was reaching his as the dodging continued indefinitely. Soon, Heinrich found himself cornered by the two elephants who were bearing down on him. He was facing death in the form of being crushed outright by the elephants.

With nowhere else to go, he decided to see if he could use the walls to jump over the elephants. When his hands came in contact, he discovered that he had claws which got a firm grip with the walls. In other words, he could climb the walls with relative ease and got onto the wall in time. The two elephants crashed into the wall below him and they didn't even make a dent in the material.

Their impact was felt by Heinrich who held on with his dear life. Eventually, the elephants moved away since Heinrich stopped moving on the walls. He allowed him stamina to recover somewhat while he studied the room for the first time. When he first arrived, his focus was entirely the mutant elephant before it separated into three equally horrific looking abominations sharing the same hostilities towards him.

The mutant elephants were aware their prey hadn't fled yet but they could do little when they couldn't sense Heinrich's movements. The large room had a flat surface which appeared quite beneficial to the elephants who needed room to charge. The walls were all solid and, after seeing not a sign of a dent in the walls where the elephants crashed into, Heinrich doubted he could make a dent himself.

There were two doors leading to the room and one of them was how Heinrich got into the room. He suspected that he needed the other door if he wished to get away. The door itself was shut at this moment so there was a chance he needed some password to get through it. With the mutant elephants in the room, he had only so many guesses before they were upon him ripping him to shreds.

Let's see how lucky Heinrich is with passwords.

Happy New Years, everyone! :)

Let's see how lucky Heinrich is with passwords.

We'll see how he fares with puzzles and survive in the process. :p

Chapter 133

There was initially widespread panic and uncertainty when the news of Akilina being kidnapped was finally released to the public. The Soviet government had no choice since they needed some motivation to get their youths to join the fight. Currently, they had conscripted all they could but they still failed to meet the numbers they anticipated was necessary to defend their home. The absence of their leaders had a way of fixing that problem.

With the demise of the entire human race very much real, countless young Soviets, many of which had been pursuing professions in academics, joined the Soviet army. At this point, the Soviet military didn't have the luxury of picking and choosing the best candidate. They were willing to give anyone a chance and those flunked would be assigned the worst tasks in the army while those who excelled had chances of promotions.

New barracks were erected and training camps rose up all over Earth. The youths, motivated by a sense of doom, needed no further encouragement. The news of the both the Swarm and the Cybrex were terrifying enough. It certainly didn't help that sensors showed a Swarm fleet was heading straight for the Sol System. The inevitable battle was arriving and the fate of mankind was on the line.

For the Soviet officials, they were troubled when no more transmissions from Akilina reached them following the one stating she was safe. They were growing uncertain if the message was even authentic. One of their enemies was the Cybrex which was credited for Akilina's kidnapping. If the Cybrex wished to imitate Akilina and send a false transmission, the Soviet officials doubted this would be very tough.

Yet, they couldn't figure out why the Cybrex would give such sound orders since this was the only approach the Soviets could take. Some speculated that the Cybrex might just enjoy a small challenge before they slaughtered the Soviets. Regardless whether the transmission was authentic or not, the Soviet land army was being constructed and the Soviets could only hope their heroine could rescue them from these troubled times.

Unless hey have really powerful fortification, i doubt the soviet army will stand much of a chance against an enemy able to unleash orbital bombardments on their positions at will. They may need a plan to deal with that incoming fleet, any ground war in stellaris is only a delaying action ☺

Accepting in unqualified applicants to fill the desperate needs for soldiers... I believe the Soviets will be resorting to Zerg Rush tactics soon.
