The Apocalypse is just full of surprises, including robot bugs with giant laser beams. :p

That has to be one of your best Paint drawings to date. ;)

I don't think we're close to uncovering all the surprises yet. :p

The Apocalypse Campaign (3)

Chapter 1992

Half a dozen alien bombers were shot down during their pitiful attempts to intercept the Apocalypse before the Apocalypse was in the clear, at least for the time being. Those aboard wondered how much time they had before the aliens began sending more robots after them. The aliens seemed relentless in their pursuit so it shouldn't come as a surprise if the aliens were tracking them, or at least attempting to, right this moment.

Joan knew they must be more ready or they would experience another devastating ambush and they wouldn't be so lucky afterwards. The Langobards were able to return to their rooms to relax while a few of them offered to help the members of the human resistance get proper accommodations. The Apocalypse was large enough so there was plenty of room for the new arrivals without rooms being overcrowded.

Everyone was fatigued from the day so, other than the operators piloting the ship, everyone else went for a quick nap to recover. They might need their strength later on should the aliens find them sooner than they expected. Meanwhile, the repair drones were still doing their various repairs as their progress on one of the screens showed nearing ninety percent. In more way than one, the repair probes had saved everyone aboard the ship.

The Apocalypse Campaign (3)

Chapter 1993

The Apocalypse changed course once the Langobards got more intelligence from the human resistance regarding the map of the planet. They were able to pinpoint the major alien settlements which they should definitely avoid and, ironically, they were heading towards one if they continued on their previous course. Luckily, that was resolved quickly and easily without any complications.

Everyone aboard the ship also noticed more of the robot patrols which gave them some comfort. These robots certainly looked different from those utilized by the aliens and actually quite friendly. A few Langobards took a chance to approach these robots and the robots showed some behavior much like dogs so the robots were known as K9-Protector or K9P for short.

The repair drones were soon done with the repairs with the screen showing a hundred percent for the ship but they had yet to return to where they were previously stored. Joan and the others watched in puzzlement while the drones began working on a new section of walls indoors. They had no knowledge of what was behind the walls due to inaccessibility but those aboard were certain they would find out soon enough.

The Apocalypse Campaign (3)

Chapter 1994

A few days passed with the Apocalypse flying towards a desert where the human resistance was certain no alien settlements existed. The desert was too harsh for most organic creatures to survive so it was very likely the aliens never bothered with the region during their invasion of the planet. Luckily for those aboard, the ship was producing plenty of food and water for them while no one knew the exact details of how.

The curious Langobards occasionally checked on the repair drones to see how they were doing. It would appear that they were having some trouble and progress was slow with the section of the wall they were working on. There were even occasions where there was significantly fewer drones in operation which made the Langobards wonder if the drones had their shifts and breaks like the human race.

There were even a few K9Ps which patrolled the hallway specifically and stopped anyone from approaching the area. They were clearly keeping the curious out and no one bothered going against their wishes. Joan only hoped that, whatever they were working on, it would aid them significantly because, for the time being, they lacked the tools and equipment to take the fight to the aliens.

The Apocalypse Campaign (3)

Chapter 1995

The Apocalypse was soon flying over the desert where there was nothing but sand. There was no sign of life anywhere but, on the bright side, there were also no signs of the robotic aliens. The ship remained relatively high in the air as Joan didn't want the ship to venture too close to the ground. She still had memory of the last ambush where the alien robots happened to have the range to nearly shoot down their ship.

Novak then entered the cockpit unexpectedly with a strange looking machine on him. He explained that, during the full withdraw in the facility to flee the aliens, he and a couple of other resistance fighters managed to get the machine aboard the ship. They said the machine was how the humans communicated with one another and was widely used by the humans before the alien invasion.

When asked why they prioritized in bringing this machine aboard, Novak explained that there was a human base somewhere in the desert. At least, that was what the rumors claimed while they were fighting with the aliens. It certainly didn't hurt if they used the machine to see if they could get any response in the desert. Joan, while worried about the aliens picking up on the frequency used by the machine, was also curious if they could get more allies to aid them against the aliens.

Watch them inadvertently lead the aliens right to the desert settlement. :p

You're such a pessimist. :p

The Apocalypse Campaign (3)

Chapter 1996

Joan took a risk and ordered the Apocalypse to fly at a lower altitude. Their scanners hadn't pick up anything yet in the desert and, according to Novak, the machine had limited range. The Apocalypse was lowered steadily as everyone in the cockpit remained tense ready to take off at the first notice of danger. Novak was just working on his machine waiting for some response for any humans who might still be living in the desert.

The base he heard about was apparently a refuge for humans following the invasion. Whether it was put to use or not was a mystery but, given that the Apocalypse happened to be in the vicinity anyways, it shouldn't hurt for them to try. There hadn't been any sightings of the alien ships so, for the time being, everyone aboard the Apocalypse could somewhat rest easy as they made their way away from all known alien settlements.

After a few minutes flying at lower altitude, Novak shouted in excitement when his machine got a response. He then relayed the approximate location to the Apocalypse computer so they could check out the source of the signal. Joan ordered the ship to change course as they approached the unknown sender of the signal. They would soon know if this was an ambush or an encounter with more allies.

The Apocalypse Campaign (3)

Chapter 1997

The Apocalypse slowly landed onto the sands with those in the cockpit preparing for an ambush. The seconds passed by with no sign of trouble so Joan eventually gave permission for Novak and some handpicked Langobards to go towards the signal on foot. Joan lost the vote to go with them so she could only watch from the cockpit as they made steady progress towards the source of the signal.

The sky was clear and the assembled team had to tolerate the heat with Novak taking the lead. Novak took an instrument on the Apocalypse which had been programmed with the last known location of the signal. The handpicked Langobards were all armed and they kept their eyes open for any sign of trouble. They were given the order to dash towards the ship the moment they spotted any robots.

The team soon stopped atop a sand dune where Novak announced was the source of the signal. Just as they looked around in disappointment, the sand below them suddenly caved in with the entire team falling downwards. To those on the Apocalypse, it appeared as though the sand just swallowed the team whole and those who saw it were too shocked to react for a few seconds.

The Apocalypse Campaign (3)

Chapter 1998

A few minutes passed before the cockpit of the Apocalypse received a transmission. Joan answered the transmission and discovered it came from the Langobards escorting Novak. They had apparently fell through a hole and landed on more sand. No one was serious hurt since everyone came away with some scratches and a few had to spit out the sand that got into their mouths.

Joan learned that they fell into a passageway made by the humans who inhabited the planet but they had yet to spot any humans. Their locations showed no sign of humans or aliens so they all agreed to explore further into passageway. Joan and the others wished them luck because there was little they could do other than sending more into the unknown which was something they preferred as a last resort.

An hour passed before a scanner of the Apocalypse picked up something behind the ship. Joan got a footage and saw numerous alien ships approaching their location including the bombers they saw at the metropolis. She ordered the ship to take off to do battle and hoped that the aliens weren't aware of the team that was sent underground or they would have their hands full.

Time for another epic battle. Hopefully the Apocalypse has some awesome new upgrades it can use against the aliens.

Before our epic battle, I have a special planned for the 2000th chapter. It's somewhat different from my conventional updates. :p

The Apocalypse Campaign (3)

Chapter 1999

The Apocalypse took off on Joan's command and she purposely not inform those underground about the presence of aliens. The assembled team had plenty of things to worry about with who knew what was underground so they didn't need something else to cause more distraction. She wanted them to perform their task to their best ability and, hopefully by then, the battle would have ended.

As the two sides closed the distance, Joan asked for an image of the alien bombers. She somewhat felt they looked different from the ones they encountered in the city and, upon seeing the images, she got the confirmation that she was right. Whatever these new bombers were might be bad news since she had a feeling the aliens were deploying these specific bombers on purpose.

your drawing skills are so good, im actually confused about the picture:
1. which way is it supposed to go, where is the front
2. Im guessing that the left thing is the front, where does the wing start and the nose end
3. is that a cannon and if it is, what is attached to the side of the body
:D (no offense meant)

Thats for the start.

Now my prediction for the future 2000th,

These are robot ships, which will actually come to aid the Apocalypse.

well, those are the comments from a person who has read only the last 2 pages because I haven´t really bothered to read the rest 128 pages :), but the last 2 are very interesting and makes me wonder how you got here. Still , know that you have 1 more reader for this AAR. I like the narrative style you got.

I tend to make the left the front so I apologize if it wasn't clear. The nose and the wings were "merged" together to give the bombers more capacity for ammunition. Whether it shows that or not is anyone's guess. The alien bombers have three cannons (two at the side and one above the cockpit).

I wouldn't recommend reading through the 128 pages because it's just too much. You aren't missing a whole lot until we get later into the story where we return to Earth. :p

Thanks for coming aboard and I hope you enjoy my paint drawings. They are going to come up for often as we progress forward. :D

The Apocalypse Campaign (3)

Chapter 2000

Above is the Apocalypse. It doesn't seem like much but, as our heroes unlock more of her secrets, I will be adding things and making adjustments. It was much harder to draw than I first expected. :p

The Apocalypse Campaign (4)

Chapter 2001

As the Apocalypse took flight, the alien bombers were already firing. The range they were using was incredible but those aboard wondered about their accuracy at this range. Luckily, only one of the shots connected and the damage it inflicted was quickly repaired by the repair drones which mysteriously appeared at the location of the impact. Joan was relieved they unlocked the repair drones which should even out the playing field.

The alien bombers continued with their barrages which proved very ineffective against the Apocalypse. There was a certain pattern at which they fired and the repair drones took shelter within the ship when the shots were soon to hit the ship. Unless the repair drones were shot down, all the damage inflicted by the alien bombers would be inconsequential greatly improving the odds of the Langobards.

The aliens couldn't exactly win a battle if they couldn't deal any damage and the repair drones were basically rendering their weapons useless. However, the Langobards were in for a rude surprise when a large energy weapon fired and their ship took a direct hit. One of her wings was caught in the blast and the repair drones were rushing to fix the damage while Joan and others in the cockpit tried to search for the culprit.

Well that picture ruins my image of the ship. I've been picturing it much more differently than that. I always saw it as being far deeper than it was wide. Not sure why though.

The drawing will be more different as we unlock things. I just needed something to work with. :p

The Apocalypse Campaign (4)

Chapter 2002

The energy blast had taken apart a chunk of the wing and shook the ship violently which slowed the ascent of the Apocalypse but the repair drones were already at work fixing the wing, though the damage was serious enough they couldn't fix it instantly. However, those in the cockpit couldn't find the culprit of the energy blast which was really frustrating since they couldn't exactly counteract enemy weapons if they couldn't find the source of the attack itself.

Joan had one of her operators show the footage of the incoming alien fleet so they could see the moments of the energy beam being fired at them. The ship shook again following another direct hit of an energy beam but the morale of those in the cockpit remained high. They were also too focused on the footage to pay attention to the alien ships which were still out of their range. The moment of the energy beam fired was eventually determined from the footage.

The footage was paused and played in slow motion a few times before the source of the energy beam was believed to be a ship that was cloaked. The beam seemed to materialize out of nowhere but, during the firing phase, there was a faint silhouette which no doubt belonged to the ship carrying the energy weapon. Joan couldn't believe that they must now deal with cloaked alien ships with some serious firepower.

Why do aliens always have superior technology ... :D

Who wants to read about humans crushing everyone? :p

The Apocalypse Campaign (4)

Chapter 2003

Regardless of what they were facing, Joan could see that they needed to close the gap between the Apocalypse and the enemy fleet. As for how they would deal with the alien cloaked ships, they would need to worry about that later. There were other alien ships they must shoot down first if they wanted to have any chance of winning this battle. Taking the matter one step at a time was the ideal approach.

The bright side for these initial stages of the battle was that the aliens seemed to only possess one cloaked ship. There was only one energy beam fired at a time which, while the source seemed to be changing all the time, was fired at regular intervals. The repair drones had been dealing surprisingly well with this lone cloaked ship as their repairs kept the ship more or less at full capacity.

The alien bombers soon began firing but their weapons too were doing little when faced with the repair drones. The small alien ships soon closed in and that was when the Apocalypse opened fire. The new weapon unlocked in the large resistance facility proved to be enough to destroy the smaller ships in a single shot. The battle seemed like a sure victory for the Langobards.

Thats a good idea :) . Humans arriving on an alien planet with inferior alien civilization starting to fight against them.

[after thinking for 2 minutes]: we have Avatar, nvm

After reading the last sentence: Something big is going to happen

You are right about something big is going to happen. :)

The Apocalypse Campaign (4)

Chapter 2004

There was nothing the aliens threw at the Apocalypse that could stop her steady progress towards the bombers. The smaller alien ships were already shot down leaving their long range ships like the bomber and the cloaked ship vulnerable. There wasn't even a single scratch with the repair drones performing their tasks perfectly. The weapons operators were just waiting to get in range and finally shoot down the bombers.

Joan was in the middle of thinking up ideas to counter the enemy cloaking device when she and others on the ship were taken by surprise by the violent shaking of the ship. The operators reported that the ship was going down and the repair drones were nowhere to be seen. Whatever the enemy fired was clearly a serious issue for the Apocalypse as the pilots had lost complete control of the ship herself.

They were still getting hit by the cloaked ship but another ship materialized out of nowhere. The images were fuzzy but Joan would bet her life the new ship, likely cloaked earlier, was responsible for their ship's sudden descent towards the ground. Regardless of what the pilots were doing, their controls were nonoperational which meant that they were sitting duck to enemy fire while the ship plummeted towards the planet surface.

Wohoo, Alien counter-offensive.
Now I think it kinda spoils to predict whats going to happen, therefore just one last time im going to predict
____
The drones will unleash whatever is inside the ship, and make "human" superiority work again, or the ship crashes and the ground crew finds a new ship.

Thats it, no more predicitions
