He is rather capable LP'er (Marco Antonio or DDRJake are better, but he does pull off some of the harder achievements with ease) with an enjoyable 'polite' voice type.

I just did one myself and it was tremendous fun! Although I did a bunch of silly mistakes that took some of the fun out of it (such as leaving the aztec DLC on -.-... The impact was felt well into Hearts of Iron). The goal will be to Unify the world in time for a space launch in Stellaris...Or develop a Meta game reason as to why the remaining nations would coalesce in space.

I'm thinking of doing a British Start with the saxons conquering england and then from there, doing a Spain Run, as usually unless i'm playing the Iberian Peninsula remains predominantly Islamic, or go for the HRE and expand from there?

Any suggestions?
