Does Red have a leader? Also, you're a blue, right? (Trying to determine faction)

I'm dead :p
But well the Raoul have been Blues since the beginning (my first character being leader for his whole life). We don't have leaders anymore, it's called a speaker now but yeah the Reds have a Speaker (don't know who it is though :D )

Well, since I haven't met any reds, and they have a speaker. I'm probably going to join the Blues.
You should at least read the Last Session to understand the underground of Roman politics

What? WHAT?! I lost THIS session!? With this... THIS plot?!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagghhhhhh, damn you exams! I've been very busy studying these last weeks, so I truly, TRULY sorry not being here, but who knows, maybe I would have tried that wine...

Oh, my dear Espinosa, you didn't deserve such destiny. And now, the most progressive faction, the one that would bring light to this dark world, arrested? Including their great leaders? Oh, the Kasteloi will be furious. I wonder what kind of strategy will Diaver use to save his life, honour and, of course, the remaining influence of The Navigators.

Treating with Athanatoi will be dangerous. Everything you say could be a double-edged sword. Hmm, maybe if some of the officials have consumed some Xocolatl, the Kastelos Company may have their names in the archives. Even some Imperators have been on the list, thanks to the monopoly.

Well, I can do nothing else than wait. Czoklet, bring everything what you got!

{{We can tell the guards to barricade our meetings? Awesome!}}
{{Are you sure this is something to be glad about? :p }}

I knew there was something weird with that frase...

Hmm, I think I will revive House Moustakas when/if there is room.
The Taurinus family would be pleased by that prospect i think. Now we just need to bring back the Colombos to spark another faction feud.

And technically speaking, the Blues did suffer their greatest defeat during Petrus Taurinus's leading of the Reds. I mean he wasn't involved in the matter but after generations of condemning the antics of those pisan loving Blues their arrests for treason seem to have validated the old style Reds.

Colombos are still around here, no ? Just changed from Reds to Whites (I don't even know anymore :D )

@Leandor : At least you're here for the interrogation :p

We blues have been too soft the last sessions. Too much open mind, much less treachery and manipulation. Oh, where are the days when we used to use the ancestors of our enemies to make them bleed? This Bubba monstrosity... Oh, sorry, sometimes Leontios Kastelos makes a come back, but yeah, my characters will be much more careful and hateful for everyone who didn't shared their misery with the Athanatoi.

Speaking from Quintus' perspective, he is sad that Bubba got imprisoned. He liked him.

Well, my character will do whatever he can to help every member of the blues who is arrested, not because of loyalty, but because someone set a trap to the whole faction, and that is a declaration of war.

I guess my next senator will be trying to move some influences to save his father. If I have a next senator of this family.

And don't forget those who died :p

[Megas Droungarios Javier Espinosa:

Espinosa smiles.

- Slow down, friends, I know you have a lot of questions but please allow me to respond to them one by one. As for the... as for the...

Espinosa suddenly stops.

- Excuse me, the hour is late and I'm no longer as young as I used to be. Now, as for your question regarding the... regarding...

Suddenly eunuchs standing closest to Megas Droungarios start screaming - you see streams of blood coming from his nose down his beard. Shocked and pale on face, Espinosa suddenly gets up and immediately almost trips and falls down, visibly out of balance. He grabs the throne with his right hand and looks at the Senators with wide-opened eyes.

- Khr... agrh...

Espinosa pushes away the eunuchs and tries to speak but only intelligible coughs can be heard. Blood from his ears and eyes makes deep blue stains on his paludamentum cloak as he tries to stay on his feet. He looks at the Blues and extends his left arm, as if asking for help.

- Kfrhh... kfrhlagh!

He loses balance and falls down the marble dais, tumbling down with loud noise. When his body stops on the floor of the Senate, his red eyes are bulging from now purple and swollen face. As you look at him laying before you in a pool of blood you realize that the silence fills the Magnaura with heavy shroud, silence like you've never witnessed it before.

President of the Senate Nikephoros Dalassenos:

Nikephoros abruptly tossess his still full chalice on the floor spilling the red wine on the marble and starts shouting.

- Assassins! Guardsmen, protect the Senators!

Men of the Imperial Senate Guard, until this moment paralyzed by what the witnessed, draw their weapons and run towards the Senators to shield them with their own bodies from the unknown assailants.

- Barricade the doors! Let nobody leave or enter Magnaura! You! he turns toward one of the eunuchs - Take two guardsmen and call the Varangians! They have to arrive immediately, the Senate is under attack!

The eunuch bows and runs toward the door to the corridor connecting the Great Hall with the rest of the Sacred Palace. Nikephoros turns toward one of the few guardsmen who wear a golden cloak on their armor.

- Captain! I order you to-

To your surprise, the captain quickly approaches President of the Senate and whispers something into his ear, then turns toward the Blues. Members of the Blue Demes suddenly realize – this is the same man who was assigned to protect them during Faction Meeting.

Nikephoros, red on face and shaking from anger, points at the Blues with Fasces.

- Seize them! Seize the murderers!

Before you have a chance to react, the guardsmen surround and grab the Blues, pushing them away from rest of the Senators.

By the authority vested in me by His Imperial Majesty Basileios III Angelos you are arrested under charges of treason and conspiracy against Megas Droungarios Javier Espinosa! Captain! When the reinforcements arrive you will escort them to the Anemas Prison and handle them over to the Athanatoi. They know best how to deal with traitors.

Nikephoros spits on the ground.

- Your Houses will be turn into ashes for what you did. Get them out of my sight!

And thus the blues became Enemy No. 1

Bubba seems decent, why in the planes of Earth, Hell, and Heaven would anyone not like the friendly Christian foreign fellow?
As for him being sympathetic to the Whites, I, actually sympathize with all factions. I consider land tactics more important than naval strategy, but I support maritime trade. I also fervently believe in the Church... *sigh* The moral conflicts.

I was thinking in what would my first senator think about him, Diaver has no problems. I think he is a great adittion to our honourable circus of mad fanatics, blood thirsty soldiers and gold-lover merchants.

I hardly see any fitting evidence, clearly, those dastardly, money loving Whites were behind this! lol jk, but, I mostly lean towards joining Blues, won't join whites because I'm a patriotic military man, may join Reds, but I haven't talked with any of their members, so less likely.

However, I do fervently believe ONE of the other parties may have framed the Blues, as such I can not join any other party as the only party clearly innocent of said crime is the victim. I also intend on aiding them in trial, though I doubt it necessary as I am sure the Emperor in his infinite wisdom will see the truth! The party(s) that support the Blues in the coming trial will most definitely have a higher standing regardless of outcome.
