Paradox Reveals Screenshots and Update Info on New EU4 Expansion

STOCKHOLM – May, 28 2015 –
The Common Sense expansion for Europa Universalis IV will encourage you to take a closer look at the dominions you control – provincial development, new options for subject states, and parliaments to bend to your will. So it makes sense to take a closer look at how the game will appear. Paradox Development Studio has you covered.

Ten new screenshots of Common Sense (available in our Press FTP) reveal a few of the secrets hidden by our cabinet ministers for the last few months. Get a sneak peek at a few of the new events relevant for subject states, our new theocracy government and the Buddhist nations of East Asia. Our new building menu is revealed, as well as the master menus for the Parliamentary and development mechanics.

Also, pictures of tall men carrying pikes, because that’s how we roll at Paradox.

We’ve already announced the major new features for Common Sense – national churches, provincial development, etc – but, as always, the expansion will come with a free patch that upgrades many parts of the game whether you buy Common Sense or not. This has become such an important part of our process that we’ve even named our upgrades.

Meet Charles V (also the handsome man in the header).
  • New Fort System: No more tiny sieges blanketing every province; forts are rarer and stronger, requiring greater investment of manpower and money
  • Buildings Redone: fewer building types with greater effects to add variety and strategy to your construction plan
  • Major changes to the map: The Low Countries now have more complicated politics, and parts of Italy, Germany and Poland have become more detailed
  • Future Trade Goods: Before you colonize an overseas province, you now have a hint as to what treasures are coming your way*
  • Reworked Diplomacy: Always fixing, always changing, always improving
Common Sense hits digital retailers on June 9th – get ready to rule a whole new world.

yay
Those are not pikes but halberds

Edit: look at Wien, total development level is 39, so what is the number on the right? cost of increasing development equal 19 would be ridiculously low

Let's see....

So many pretty colours. Seriously, though, it looks quite nice, although some of the interfaces are strangely spaced.

Lithuania image, is that a new icon next to the fleet?

France image, I'm assuming France has Economic ideas, price for first level buildings have increased from 50 to 100 ducats?

Sweden image, "Aspects" need a bolder font in my opinion.

What fleet, I do not see it. Additionally garrison seems to be 0, why the siege continues?

It's a shame that forts overlap with cities. :-(

It looks like provinces without forts or not near forts will still need a month to complete a siege on. I was hoping they would siege instantly like a province being colonised. :(

The Teutonic province has a level one fort. It's empty, though.

To the right, next to "1st Fleet", a brown coil or something.

Ahh, that one. Since their fleet is in Black Sea I assume that is is some kind economic icon

It looks like. And window shows +5 for artillery bonus, while it is 5800 infantry there.

Edit: there are too many trees, I do not see fort on the map. Is it really fort or just neighborhood of capital/fort?

I hope that PI made new event images for Buddhist events. Christian imagery on a Buddhist event looks way too weird.
