Good lord that escalated quickly. I honestly think my heart rate increased as I read.
What the hell just happened?
Is it.... over?
Jesus, that was a bitter sweet victory over Amazonia
Three to four months they said...
That was a fantastic update! The feeling of the country spiraling out of control was palpable.
Good lord that escalated quickly. I honestly think my heart rate increased as I read.
Well, did not see this coming.
Well the music was the perfect touch; it tracked perfectly with my reading speed, and a little after 4 minutes dropped down to the quiet part just as the government fell.
I'm glad I finally decided to read this AAR. I initially hadn't because I believed you were going to be playing the British Empire. Too bad it's now over. The Rebellion kinda reminded me of OT Russian Civil War.
Sic transit gloria mundi. While it saddens me that the AAR is coming to an end, that last chapter was brilliant. It is nice to see that revolts can actually overwhelm a player, even if it must have been somewhat frustrating to play through.
Noes! I've been waiting so patiently for the end of the war with Amazonia and I get the end of the AAR instead (and Amazonia's bitter defeat too).
May our megalomaniac reactionary emperor live in peace.
ALL HAIL BRITANNIA!
This is one of my favorite AARs. BRILLIANT!
What an epic ending. I'd love to read about the crazy civil war that will inevitably break out between the liberals/republicans and the communists once the monarchy is purged.
If the military had any sense, they'd have realised the crazy reactionary emperors needed to go for the sake of stability and deposed the monarchy ages ago, just like Brazil IRL. But now they get this fun civil war to deal with.
Wow. Just. Wow. Will you continue even after the fall of His Royal Majesty's Government?
Guess you couldn't keep up the breakneck pace of conquest forever. Well, no need to worry about that! Even if a few Amazonians or Lotharingians break free from the empire, you should be able to reclaim them once your core territories have stabilized; furthermore, you'll definitely have the advantage of your colonial empire to fuel money and prestige into your country. That's assuming without the Incas smelling the blood you've spilled and trying to reestablish themselves as local hegemon, but we'll just have to see about that.
We'll also have to see who wins the civil war, and what shape your nation will take in these times, but I'm sure that Britannia will eventually rise again, like the stereotypical phoenix from the ashes.
What a heartbreaking update! But why no continuation of the AAR? Surely you could get the monarchy back in power!
I feel that it is time to leave the monarchy behind. It cannot be saved.
This AAR can go one of two ways IMO:
The monarchy fights back desperately in a last stand battle
The PoV switches to the rebels and their fight against the tyranny of the monarchy
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Damn it everything was looking so good! Why can't we continue as a socialist state? Why?
Let it be known to the royal family and Britannians across the nation that there are still those who are loyal. Who always will be.
We will look upon our great empire with fondness, and hope that in the shattered remains a new Britannian state may rise.
To those left, do not revolt: durate et vosmet rebus servate secundis.
Please not the monarchy! ANYTHING! This is not the end, look at Russia in 1917. Watch.
You'll see.
Britannian Imperialism is......d-dead?
NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree entirely with this sentiment. A fine bit of work and definitely not the usual sort of ending one sees around the place.Well, I wouldn't have minded the real story tbh, but your story works too. Thanks for entertaining us!
