EDIT - this now works but hussites do not survive with only 2 provinces - should they get Morava as well ?

Last edited:
should - Lausitz, Breslau and the states of LIE , OEL, OPP have Sorb/Silesian culture

How did it end with this suggestion in agceep Bohemia thread?

I think it was ignored, ............HUS always die out by 1424 in games with 2 provinces ..............could be the stab hits they take which lowers morale

If we accept that the events text would not fit to all possible options - just as it is currently, then we could
merge events HUN 188001, 003 and 004 to one event.
Instead of having different triggers the event would have four options, each with a condition for that option
e.g. a) HAB exists --> provinc to HAB, b) HAB and BAY exists --> to BAY as 2nd option, c) HAB does not exist but BAY does --> BAY, d) neither HAB nor BAY exists --> release BAY

In my current testgame the Ottomans are not expanding fast enough. In 1527 the Mamluks, Ramazan and Akk Koyounlou still exist and TUR has not even conquered Bosnia from Hungary despite having cores. And not owning Bosnia means that the modified event of solidified rule in the Balkans won´t fire that grants TUR bosnian culture. And lacking that TUR did not manage to come even close to sieging Vienna in 1529 as historically.

So I suggest these changes:

The problem with Hungary is that it has too many provinces , which make it unappealing for the Ottomans to war , and it retains too many cultures when we know there was continous rebellions with the nobility until corvinus.......then it settled , then again there was upheavel.

The other issued is that that TUR should have annexed the MAM before 1520 , if not then TUR eyes are in Africa

MY suggestion how to get to Vienna quicker was the modified event I posted.
Not annexing Ramazan is another reason why TUR does not expand fast enough and is an obstacle to reach a border with the Mamluks.

The number of Hungarian provinces could be reduced to make the HAB-TUR border more dynamic. Also, gameplay-wise, it would probably be better to make TUR accept Magyar culture.

Perhaps with the conquest of Buda as provinces with magyar culture may have been under ottoman control for 100 years including the capital Buda - but the vlach, armenian and kurdish provinces have been under their control even longer.

i do not have magyar culture...I have hungarian culture as per the version I am playing..............unless a newer version of PV is around which i do not know of

The problem with Hungary is that it has too many provinces
Any suggestions regarding Hungarian provinces? I was thinking to merge Karpatok and Karpatalja into Carpathia and Pest and Szeged into Cisdanubia so HUN would have the following provinces (down to 10 from 12):

Province - City
Transdanubia - Buda
Cisdanubia - Pest or Eger/Erlau or Szeged
Burgenland - Sopron/Ödenburg or Győr/Raab or Veszprem
Slovakia - Pozsony/Preßburg
Carpathia - Kassa/Kaschau
Transylvania - Hermannstadt
Crisana - Nagyvárad/Großwardein
Banat - Temesvár
Croatia - Zagreb
Slavonia - Osijek/Esseg

When events are modified so that Hungary cedes Bosnia to the Ottomans after Mohacs as I suggested it should work out in most games.

seems fine

The other flaw with the entire game to make the AI react earlier is to make non-owned historical provinces targeted 30 to 50 years before the historical event that states "this" nation owned "this" province........example, if Ottomans are to gain cores on certain hungarian provinces, then these cores should hapen much earlier, than the historical date
