Though, to play devil's advocate... the Communists somehow managed to survive 1949 with only six seats in Parliament. Somehow.

Think that is because of some.. external reasons
The SIS says there is no communist plot to rig the election, and who could be more trustworthy than Britain's intelligence community?
The CIA say otherwise! And you know what they do to communist takeovers - legal or illegal
FFfffff, decisions decisions... prevent Labour from being the smallest party in parliament or give the Liberals a majority...
Well I Doubt thats going to happen...
In the hypothetical would you vote for the tories or the communists if those were your two choices everyone?
FFfffff, decisions decisions... prevent Labour from being the smallest party in parliament or give the Liberals a majority...
Please, please, please, do the latter...
On a side note, if the communists continue do well, perhaps we will see them evolve into a more responsible democratic socialist party? I could get behind that.
Hey, Forseti, vote Labour so the rest of us don't feel so cold and alone out here.
My thoughts exactly, but I think both are an exciting possibility. Speculating wildly, it could signal friendlier relations between London and Dublin, which could have an impact on how Her Majesty's government deals with the problem of Ulster. Perhaps we will see a dramatic exit à la South Africa in our timeline?
what ever you do vote my friend!
Boo! Not only will we not get a majority,
you may well have extended the Bevanites' rule of error.
And after all that wait, too?
Bevanite? He got kicked out, kind of as I predicted. We're Wilsonians now.
Nah, you're still Bevanite. If you weren't, I imagine you'd get a stronger showing.
