Pah! As you can see, my young National Liberal, your MPs have failed. Now, witness the electoral power of this fully Keynesian and operational Liberal Party!

Oh and BTW, Beveridge is your father. Sorry Rosa, I should have something earlier.

What if I told you that Keynes disagree with your kinds of economics? And that he in the end said that the free-market is the right way to go?

Beveridge? Should have what? o_O

Oh and. I have found a new strategy. Once I come into a corner I can't get out of, start talking about women's rights and you will start to attack that instead :D

That's not new, that's like Enewald's mantra if you replace women's rights with dreary a-c economics.

But what about Beveridge? And what should you have done?

Tanzhang, and all you other social conservatives:

*sigh* references don't work if you have to explain them.

Tanzhang, and all you other social conservatives:

I enjoy being called a social conservative - it makes for a nice change. :)

Did you mean that he is my or Tufto's father? I assume you're trying to taunt me for him being the fatehr of the british welfare state.

And yes I call everyone who are opposed to social progress and loberties social-conservative. Let them be Social-Liberal, Tory, Communist, Socialist, Liberal or even Anarcho-Capitalist.

Opposed to social progress, you say? You mean like people who favour Victorian economics over the New Liberalism? :D

Consider this then. In the Weimar Republic you had freedom of speech and such. In Nazi Germany you had none. New isn't always progress ;)

And who said I support Victorian economics? And I disagree with Keynesniasm, or more specifically how it is implemented, because the long term effects are worse. It goes like a rollercoaster. It start low, then goes up then ends up even lower. The way up take a long time and everyone can see how it is and is excited to reach the top. However teh downfall is so fast you won't really comprehend it happened until it did happen :) Even Keynes himself recognized this. That if the other parts of his economics were ignored this would happen. Unfortuantely it is ignored. Even more governments have an unhealthy mix of the expansive and contractive financial politics. Like the socialists favor high taxes in both good and bad times. The conservatives lower taxes in both good and bad times :)

In effect no one apply Keynesian economics. Since the political shocks are great, and likewise it is no balance in the financial economics. They don't follow the principles of expansive financial politics in bad times, and contractive in good times. They also don't care about the production gaps. And lastly they ignore the monetary policies - because expansive financial politics is so expensive.

In short: You do not follow Keynesian economics, but rahter the economics Keynes and other Keynesians warned about.

In Britain we had neither the Weimar Republic nor Nazi Germany. :p

This is literally one of the only things we will ever agree upon 100%. :)

I think we've already established that the Liberal party is the Dark Side. :)

Nah never said that, as I've said on some occasions I have indeed thought about voting for them :)

Beveridge: There is no escape. Don't make me destroy you.
[pauses]
Beveridge: Sinclair, you do not yet realize your importance. You have only begun to discover your power. Join me, and I will complete your training. With our combined strength, we can end this two party system and bring order to the nation.
Sinclair: I'll never join you!
Beveridge: If you only knew the power of the Dark Side. Lloyd George never told you what happened to your father.
Sinclair: He told me enough! He told me *you* killed him!
Beveridge: No. *I* am your father.
Sinclair: No. No. That's not true. That's impossible!
Beveridge: Search your feelings, you *know* it to be true!
Sinclair: [anguished] No! No!

If anything, Darth Lloyd George would have been a dark lord of the sith - no question.

((Thougt about something interesting. What if Dieng Xiaoping don't become economic minister? And that not he but a sociaøist/communist take over after Mao? Would be intersting if China stayed commited to socialism and didn't liberalize their markets.))
