Another huge mistake by my side. I did not ally Italy, but I forgot that they unilaterally declared war on the Societ Union when the Russians dowed me. When this happened, it was like "C´mon Darkest Hour, stop f*** me!".

Sever the soviet connection with Italy, eliminate the Soviets there (that would be a huge number of lost divisions for the Soviets).

Units have already been sent to southern France, where we will try to encircle as many Soviets as we can. However, I don´t think I will create an Italian puppet, since (unless I´m wrong) it would have Mussolini has HoS, which would have no sense in hout timeline. As for the fortifications, I don´t think it would be completed in time.
The main problem is that now it´s just delaying the unstoppable. I managed to destroy 26 division in this somehow short playthrough, and according to intel they still have 638 and the allies keep bombing me like if Japan does not exist. So now it´s just seeing how far I stand, but a simple mistake can mean the surrender in a matter of weeks.

That is a horrible turn of luck! But I agree; even if OOC you should go for the Italian puppet. Regardless of your nation's ideology, Fascist Allied Italy is better than Soviet Enemy Italy. Pragmatism must triumph over naivete. So push into Italy to cut the Reds in half, then overrun the peninsula.
I'm not sure how it works in DH, but could you start a line of forts WAY behind the lines to protect your key provinces? The problem of course being that that it that much less boots on the ground, so yeah, scratch that. Spam those militia!

Indeed. That is precisely my point. I know that this is alt-history, but I bet that if WW2 was about to end with the Soviets controlling Italy and probably France, the Allies would quickly start to help Germany (a democratic one, I mean).
I don´t know if I can create just a democratic Italy, but a fascist Italy really seems to break the immersion for me. I haven´t allied any single dictator in this game and it´s a nice thing, something that the Allies cannot say for themselves. As you say, let´s spam Militias!
And the fortifications can be done in any province under my control, I just don´t think I will have the time to see them completed.

I'd first establish a defensive line on the former French-Italian border (Alpine line), then cut off Soviets in Italy. You need to stop the Red Cancer in France first, otherwise they'll use the ports to march to Berlin from the west.
True, now my priority is to hold any Soviet attempt of penetrating through France, and deal deal with any divisions sent there by trying to cut them from Moscow. Anyways, ionly a miracle can save Germany!
An idea: Coup Italy. If it is a democratic nation the RSI won't spawn. Have a war exaustion due to Ethopia make the people pissed with Mussolini, popular democratic uprising happens and German help prevents the Communists from taking over. Yes this would be cheating but you really need more allies.

As soon as the news of the Italian capitulation were known, large numbers of troops were redeployed to the Mediterranean border, attempting to encircle the maximum number of Soviet divisions in the northern zones of Italy, even when many soldiers did not understand the need to fight on French soil when Germany itself was threatened. Aware that Germany was already lost, the Chancellor went to the Reichstag and requested a statement to offer the Soviets “Germany’s surrender in order to avoid unnecessary deaths in view of the recent course of the war." Nobody doubted that the Soviet tyrant was not going to pass up the opportunity to take control of the whole of Europe to draw the map to his pleasure, and the USSR confirmed such views by installing puppet governments in the Italian Union, Czekoslovak Socialist Republic and the recently liberated Estonia.

In a few weeks, the Red Army would advance with virtually no barriers across Europe, committing countless war crimes and executing all non-communist political leaders wherever they were. In mid-September the Russians would already be on the Rhine, and controlled the whole of continental Europe. In the United States, F.D. Roosevelt died after a long illness, and Harry Truman sworn into office and offered to the Soviets “to attend an international meeting to set new boundaries of the liberated Europe." However, Soviet Foreign Minister Molotov announced that the USSR “would not attend a meeting proposed by the capitalist countries to return Europe into submission to the bourgeois and fascist tyrannies”, and instead established different satellite governments in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Poland and France. The Allies realized too late about the consequences of the German defeat.

The only success of the Allies in Europe would be the entrance of Denmark in their alliance, while the Finnish government completely lost his head and declared war on the Soviet Union. In a few hours, the United States announced that Finland “was not in any way supported by the Western Allies." Directed by Marshal Zhukov, the Soviet Occupation Zone controlled the whole of Germany and Austria, and began to prepare for the celebration of a massive trial against many German political and military leaders. After 5 years of war, Europe was now a huge red spot under the dictates of Stalin, and the rest of the world trembled at this sight.

Yes, fellow readers, Germany has fallen. As for now, I will add some more chapters for the AAR explaining the post war situation and formation of the GDR, but I guess I will end it once some flavour events have been lauched. After all, there will be no Cold War (or at least nothing too interesting), and I think the tale of a Democratic Germany has been told and only needs some epilogues.
My idea is to start thinking of new countries to make a new AAR, I have contacted a forum moderator to see if I can run a little poll here, aulthough I already have some ideas (for example, a post-Bitter peace USSR AAR has not been done yet and could be interesting, CSA in Kaiserreich, or UK in DH Full only focused in naval warfare). I will tell you more once I have an answer, probably in a new thread to keep this one "clean".
