It took longer than I expected, but we now support 1.09.

As well, things are better organized internally, so we can release bugfix versions as we need, instead of waiting until the next major feature set is ready.

Sliders
Centers of Trade

It only seems to give me trouble with the Republican HRE save. My Republic of Africa works just fine. Older saves work as well.

A random though on republics and sliders. The larger a republic is the higher mercantilism should be. Very small republics would have more free trade. The reasoning being that very expansionist (human) republics are essentially circumventing free trade by directly controlling the land that trade is taking place in.

The Africa save is strange. I started in Venice and proceeded to conquer Africa. Much of Africa flipped culture such that maybe 2/3 was italian. Upon conversion my primary culture is Umbrian despite my capitol being sicilian and the majority of my italian culture provinces are umbrian. Considering that most of the provinces that converted as italian were culture flipped from something else shouldn't they and my capitol match?

Fix one problem just to expose another…can you two upload your saves somewhere so I can take a look?

Here you go. Its a really old save, so I figure thats got to have something to do with it. Hope it helps.

There are some pretty major problems with that save. I'm surprised it loaded in CK2 at all. How does central Africa look when the game is loaded?

In any case, I've got some fixes (to your save, not the converter) that seem to help.

1. Open the save in Notepad++.
2. Search for e_rebels=
3. Just before that text, delete everything upwards to (and including) the line
Code:
907=
4. Search for c_aprutium=
5. Delete that line and everything in the topmost {…} block after it.
6. Repeat steps 4&5 for c_sijilmasa=
7. Search for k_mali=
8. Delete everything from that line until d_abbasid= (leaving d_abbasid= intact)

And that should do it.

I see what went wrong. We merge independent baronies to their liege. In this case, the Doria family's mansion should be merged to the HRE. But because the HRE has special rules, it doesn't exist as a title within the converter, causing a null pointer exception when we try to do the merge.

The solution is probably easy, but I'm sick and I can't seem to figure it out right now.

I'm getting a crash on converting opinion modifiers. Using my CK2+ conversion files, so no idea if it's a mod issue or just a regular bug (and can't test, as I don't have a vanilla save.) Let alone how to fix it.

I suspect it's because we now look at opinion modifiers and don't read in the CK2+ ones.

Until we do something clever, I'm afraid CK2+ to EU3 is sunk. Sorry!

Where could I read more about what the convertor mod mentioned on the front page actually does?

At the moment, it doesn't do much. Just adds a few CK2 religions and cultures to EU3.

Thank you sir. And to answer the question about West Africa, I think that save predates 1.06 or whenever those provinces were added, so they simply show up as empty in ck2, no rulers and you cant move armies onto them. Didn't seem to affect gameplay much (except once it told me I had a ducal claim on one of them).

At any rate, I figured it was the save rather than the converter. Thanks for taking the time anyway.

I'll see if manually removing the new opinion modifiers from the save file will do any good.

EDIT: Or not. I was thinking it'd be a line you could just remove, but it's a phrase that you'd have to take out one-by-one, so I guess this game ends in the CK2 era. :(

An invalid opinion modifier shouldn't cause a crash, just a warning...unless the modifier is unparseable (there was a similar problem with an EU3 mod for EU3ToVic2 a while ago...the mod was writing a leaf that was illegal under the grammar we had defined). Can you identify which opinion modifier is causing the problem?

I probably should have checked to see if this worked with a Titular Title Generator before carrying a game up to 1399.

It has so far always worked with my vanilla saves though, great work!

Go into country_mappings and map the titular titles (or at least the ones you care about what they get converted to) that made it to 1399 in your game?
