Chapter X: Year 1944
Welcome on the continuation!
Nats have pushed Japs back, almost to their pre-war border, this is some good news for me, but I can´t get an edge, since it´s Asia and not Europe
Another map shows the European situation, Soviets pushed Germans back to their side of Poland...
I´ve decided to launch an invasion of Italy; a great base to invade them from is Malta, closely enough to their mainland and also reduces the odds of being caught by Regia Marina (or what else has left of it)... I´ve 6 TP to ship 2 full corps there, the first on Sicily, the second to Sicily and the first serves as a block for Italians running back to Roma...
The first corps is in position, advancing to the north of Italy...
The second splits Italians to two pockets, Palermo and Syracuse...
Nah, who would expect this?
I definitely wouldn’t...
Sicily is almost taken over, the last opposition has dug-in in Palermo, and the second corps is advancing further north...
Sicily is taken over; the whole Greek army on Apennines is advancing to Roma...
My army is pushing the Italians slowly, but steadily...
I´ve never noticed this opportunity to advance from both sides! Unfortunately, there is only a little purpose to push, due to German army, which I´ll find out later...
It´s a bit later than it historically should be, but never mind! Good job on HPP, I only did know about the battle of Monte Casino (which is close from here)...
How the Europe looks like at the end of the year? The giants are stalling each other, but the main difference is that I´ve taken half of the Italy by myself! I hope my “Allies” will help me in more significant way; at least if they could launch the D-Day...
Another chapter (year) is written, thanks for reading it!
