In this AAR, I shall detail the tale of Scandinavia from the turn of the century, until the end. This has been one of the most enjoyable games of Victoria 2 I have played so far, with PDM. The Great War mod by Rylock is a really cool addition, and actually makes after 1900 worth playing. The reason I decided to start the AAR now is because I find taking screenshots tedious since whatever keys you press don’t work since I am running it on a mac using Boot Camp. Neither the mac or pc combinations work, and F12 doesn’t either.
I apologize in advance for this block of text, you can skip over it and just look at the maps if you want.
The year is 1890. Europe is set in entangling alliance blocks. Communism is sweeping through Europe, recently overtaking Germany. (The interesting thing about this rebellion was the rebels defeated the entire army at the capital, usually what I see happen is the army is fighting another battle or occupying territories, not actually bothering to fight the rebels.) The mighty Tsar was once deposed by pro-democracy supporters, and was merely a figurehead for many years, until he managed to wrest control back again, after the armed forces were discovered to be very lacking. Our country of Scandinavia has had many small wars, but two with Russia. The first we took advantage of an opportune timing, striking right after Germany had defeated them. We didn’t fight a single battle that war. Later, we decided to strike again, for southern Finland, having taken the northern part in our first war. Our 35 brigades defeated the entirety of the Russian army. They didn’t send all their troops at us, since a war with the Ottomans started, but it was still a great victory. I also took Korea and the region going north east from it. The total casualty numbers for the war have been estimated at about 30,000 of our troops and 150,000 of theirs. The North German Federation was founded in the 1860's, without a war with Austria. The war with France followed quickly, with France-Comte being taken also. Italy was formed by decision by me, they have been my stalwart ally ever since, now sitting comfortably in the 6th place right now. Our alliance, the Central Powers, is Scandinavia, Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy. I am working on adding Austria-Hungary to my sphere, this is they have switched back and forth between AH and just austria twice.
First, a screenshot of the great powers. The British Empire flag is with Prussian Constitutionalism, if someone would be willing to tell me the history of the flag, I would be interested.
greatpowers.png

Now a map of Europe. The ugly blob in the middle is Bohemia-Moravia, liberated by Germany, then part was added by Patriot rebels. Bavaria broke away during the great communist uprising. The small white thing next to Germany is Belarus. France is in its maybe 4th rebellion, now a communist one. Before it had anarcho-liberal, and two jacobin ones, since it seems to do Major Emergency measures a lot.
europeg.png

Here's North Africa, American Africa is funny to see on a map. South Africa isn’t very colonized yet.
northafrica.png

Our Korea, we also own Johore and Zulu.
ourkorea.png

South America, interesting things are Andes Republic, formed by a rebellion in Peru-Bolivia, and Guyana, which rebelled from France. Nothing interesting in North America, except Canada isn’t a sattelite, they used whatever event makes the country whose sphere you are in pressure the people that hold you. They are having a communist rebellion. Rio Grande broke off of Mexico.

I'm the number one producer of lumber.

My population and things. The budget is just because I just loaded the savegame.

I will post the first update soon. Oh, and I promise to finish this one, make sure I keep my word, that I will post updates until at least 1925, in my Czechoslovakia one, I posted only one, it was easily the most boring game of Victoria 2 I have ever had, sitting between two giant nations, neither of which will ally with you.
Tell me if there are any screens you think I should have in this intro that I don’t.

1890-1892

March 24, 1890
I am researching revolution and counterrevolution, hoping to make my militancy go down. I am going to research Deep defence system next to get gas, and because the inventions make it more likely to invent motorized infantry, which activates guards. That is why I am not building any more military units now. I am influencing Austria-Hungary right now. Spain and Portugal are in my sphere. About half my population is in Korea. I was ranked 3rd for a while, but dropped back down to fourth. In the newest version of PDM, prestige wasn’t supposed to be so much higher than the other two, but it still is. The ottoman empire is still a great power.

April 7
Austria-Hungary declares war on Bohemia-Moravia, Germany declines to aid Bohemia. Two of my national focus points are set to colonizing, two to beurocrats in Korea, and one to Craftsmen.

June 20
Finished colonizing Negele region, expanding Eastern African territories. Set it to colonizing Uganda.

colonizednegelejune2018.png

July 8
Build 20 cruisers to add to our navy, we hope to be able to, along with Germany, beat Britian when war happens. Right now our navy is 30 commerce raiders and 17 steam transports. Germany currently has three brigades, they are slowly rebuilding after the rebellion. I tag switch to them to queue up some units, a world war would be boring if someone didn’t have an army.

July 21
We increase our opinion in AH to cordial. We also get this event.

vaguejuly21.png

I wonder if the option that says wait them out is supposed to be vague as to what it is.

August 4
discovered financial regulations, Bulgaria decalred war on Tunis.

September 3
Austria-Hungary annexed Bohemia-Moravia, their country is expanding, it got torn apart for a while.

sep3annex.png

September 10
Portugal enacts major emergency measures. This returns them to an absolute monarchy. It also made this event happen. I choose They're not worth it, because they stay in my sphere, I just loose my influence. I look at the influence in them next, and find out that the USA has 67 influence. I will just forget about Portugal then. I couldnt make it to 50 before they could make it to 100, and anyway, I don’t need them, I have Spain. Also, I need all my influence for Austria-Hungary, and the US is Germany's ally anyway.

rebisallysep10.png

That event made my militancy go up enough to enact a reform, so I choose Low Subsidies. I have all the political reforms and most of the social.

lowsubssep10.png

October 16
France declares war on Liberia, they had a rebellion and broke free of the US. I am loosing 2000 a day because of those cruisers

December 15
Zanzibar asks for Military Access, we accept. They are being attacked by the Ottoman Empire.

January 1
Our new upper house. Nothing really changes, those big percentages are from the reforms we did. I'll make a table of contents at the beginning so that you can skip straight to the Great Wars, or a more interesting part, when something happens. Because nothing is happening right now, and it is probably pretty boring reading this.
We have started going into debt, but there is 9 million in our national bank, so we don’t need to worry.

upperhousejan11891.png

February 24
We ban Italy from Austria-Hungary, they are our now. We then increase relations with Italy and Germany, I want to have 200 relations with my allies when war might come.

March 4
The British Empire, with their funny maroon white and green flag, has declared war on china to Cut Down to Size, this is the 3rd British-Chinese war.

May 1
USA declared war on Sokoto

May 21
Canadian Communists enforce their demands on Canada. Thats a strange flag... And a reactionary rebellion is already starting in Canada. I would rebel too if I had to have that flag. The think that thing inside the maple leaf is just strange. And Chile offers us an alliance. The same day, the Empire of Mexico enters an alliance with Canada.

canadacommiesmay21.png

August 1
My generals are dropping like flies. Has anyone else noticed that the seem to go in spurts, like 3 die, and then not any more for a year or so? Iceland petitions for annexation, they keep going in a cycle, they ask to be released, then ask to be annexed. Out of our 36 cruisers we have ordered, the first one is being delivered in Godthab on the 16th. And we ban the Russians from AH.

icelandaug1.png

October 16
All of our ships have started building. I lower the trade slider for steamships, since we don’t need all of them. I also queued more units for Germany, the ones before were guards, which you need cars for, and France is the only producer of cars.

January 5 1892
One invention, the upper house, and an event. We finished research, and started deep defence system.

jan1upperhouse1892.png

This will be the end of this update, expect more tomorrow probably.

So, since nothing is happening, I will post a summary at the end of each year until a war happens, since that is what I am writing this for, to show a Great War.

1892
Chose research, deep defense system
Austria-Hungary added to sphere
removed chile from sphere, they magically appeared there

invent gas attack
finally a reform!
Germany also adds the french part of France-Comte, part of it rebelled back to France through patriots
bavaria turns communist
liberals win election with 50.56 % of the vote
change parties, do another reform
a new country, one that I have never seen before
wiangchiag.png

Austria-Hungary declared war on poland
polandn.png

Japan is a great power, ottomans fall
jacobin rebels enforce demads
Russia declares war on poland
AH and Poland make peace
ahpolpeacesept4.png

new upper house, liberals gain some

This will be the end of this update, tell me if I should continue it this way until Great Wars start, or if I should write in more detail.

There Prussian Constitutionalism, but I am using a flag mod, so maybe its changed.

There Prussian Constitutionalism, but I am using a flag mod, so maybe its changed.

Oh, because the flag is what the British republicans (idiots, bloody idiots) would replace our beloved union flag should they have their way bastardizing our great nation!

I will go into way more detail about the economy, army setup, etc. in 1900, then again right before the Great War, and right after. This update will have more images because without images it doesn’t look very good and is probably boring to look at. Actually, I got bored writing in that style, and now will go more in depth.

1896
I finished military logistics on the 21 of January. This tech I chose because it increased my mobilization size, and was a military tech. In the last war with Russia the Scandinavian army had a huge advantage, getting even casualties with way worse rolls. I wish I had a screenshot of some of these battles. I only have two more army techs on this level, right now I have 18/30 in Commerce and Army, 12/30 in Navy, (if anyone can tell me why the other techs besides the second column are important I might research them. I also researched some that decrease build time, I hate having to wait three years for dreadnaughts.) 19/30 in culture, and 20/30 in Industry. We have already invented the car, but have no factories of cars yet, and I really don’t want to switch my government, the militancy will go up, and it is already rising by .2 . We haven’t invented the airplane, and still don’t have motorized infantry, which in PDM lets you build guards.
exppsycjan31.png

I really have no idea who to have a great war with, I think it would be interesting if it was France, Britain, Russia, and the OE against me, Germany, AH, and Italy. Our alliance is made, but theres might require some tag-switching. I might switch to them right when war breaks out to make it so that they all join, I really want it to be a world war. Tell me what you want, since I'm writing this for you. Do you want to see a giant Great War with everyone involved? Warning you now that our side would be completely overpowered in this war. Or do you want to see what happens naturally? I might get everyone to gang up on Germany, Russia and AH, I can take out Russia by my self, if my tech advantage is still as big. AH is rebuilding though, and now has about 130 brigades. France will be crushed though, so I guess that wont work. Any suggestions as to a setup, or just let if play out? We are the number two producer of lumber, recently fallen behind the USA. We take great pride in that fact, even though it is only one factory producing almost all of the lumber, a level 16 factory. Germany and Austria-Hungary are beginning to look like a big yin-yang in the middle of Europe. So, now to start the game.

On January 31, after moving my troops to begin occupying that last annoying island from rebels, I choose my new research. I choose Experimental Psychology. It gives a reinforcement bonus, which I will need during the war, and lessens war exhaustion, which I will also need if I don’t want to be swarmed by rebellions, until I can build dreadnaughts to break the probable British blockade.
I also turned off advanced water on game settings, if you notice that in any upcoming screenshots, because it makes the game run a lot faster.

And on February 1 we invent telephones. Unfortunately I don’t have state capitalism or planned economy, so I cant build them. The capitalists never seem to. There probably isn’t any electric gear anyway.

telefeb1.png

We can magically increase our opinion in Greece, anyone else noticed that when a country has a rebellion certain countries gain influence there?
Oh, and I decided to stockpile timber for my factories, later I will turn the slider to automated, and let the factories buy from the stockpile.
We ban Russia from Austria-Hungary in March, there going to be a great power soon so it doesn’t really matter anyway.
We discover Airplanes on April 2, I think we are the first country to do so, at least none are producing any. The same day, the last rebel occupation except for the Faroe Islands is cleared, the island of Gotland. I think we shall have to build a runway there.
Checking the factory screen, there is one project going on. Normally they build so fast that I cant even see them, but in this one, well just look at the picture. Its probably because our country is buying up all the timber for the stockpile.

lumberapr14.png

allianceblock.png

Above is a picture of our alliance block, the only problem is there is no one to oppose us. One problem with the Great War mod is that, at least for me, well say I'm hypothetically in a great war against France and Russia. It started when I attacked France, using a Great War cb. So, I am at a stalemate in France, but destroying Russia, so I add Great War on Russia also. Say France is the war leader. I make peace with Russia, enforcing Great War against them. Russia is supposed to be dismantled, but they arent. I continue the war with France, enforce Great War, and they are dismantled, anyone have any ideas why Russia doenst?
On August 10, Japan fell in Great Power spot to Austria-Hungary. Thankfully, Austria-Hungary kept there alliance with me, sometimes when countries are no longer in your sphere, they break the alliance. I don’t really know who to put influence into now, but the Ottomans are a safe choice. They don’t usually rebound after falling early, and they do have 87 brigades, which would be helpful against AH or Russia. The US declares war on Hawaii. We start loosing money, so I pay back our loan. I also stop stockpiling timber, and let factories buy from the stockpile. Look at how the budget shot up due to sales.
Actually it didn’t, suprising. Anytime before that I've done this I was instantly making thousands of dollars. Well, to make me feel better, I send an expedition to freeze there butts off in the North Pole.

northpolesept2.png

So, Anarco-liberals take power in Austria-Hungary, and they change there name back to Austria, the fourth time it has changed. We STILL have an alliance with them though, which is good. In other news, we decide to host a colonial fair. China had a big boxer rebellion, though thankfully there was no Boxer Atrocities spam, and Xibei San Ma broke off. The writing of China looks bad now.

xibeisanma.png

and our economy decides to make money again, yay... and militancy decides its going to go down, life is good.
January 1st, a new upper house is voted in. The Losses and gains are because suffragate events upset the balance of power.

upperhouse1897.png

and America annexes Hawaii, a day that will be remembered sadly all across the islands, February 2nd 1897, about a year earlier than IRL.
This is the end of this update, sorry it was short. As I was looking at the exit screen, Germany has retaken the top spot that they lost during there revolution. My brigade count is so low because I'm waiting for guards, I have 65 to build, and about 100 mobilized. I like that in PDM the Great Powers are realistic, these seem like they actually could be plausible for the time frame.
end1897.png

Also, I made some changes to the Great War mod, that you can only declare one on your neighbor, that you can add place in the sun for free once you are in a great war with someone, and that relations only have to be below 0, not below -100.

Can anyone reading tell me what they would like to see, and do you want to see anything before the Great War, or just write about that.

I like what you've done so far and I would like to see the great war play out naturaly. I also definitely think you should continue writing about everything before the war, its not only entertaining but also adds context.

Anyone else have an opinion?

Were you using PDM 4.05? That's what I was playing with. I didnt do anything special the normal event and decision chain. Besides that I took Zulu, took Modena, then it rebelled, then attacked Austria after their war with NGF was over so I could take lombardia and form Italy. I also took a small piece of west morocco. The requirements for Scandinavia arent very hard, they just take a while. I already had 375 prestige when I got the last tech and did the decision, then I went to war with Russia while they were at war withGermany, so I didnt fight a single battle. While that war was going on, I got Lavish Exhibition, which gave me enough prestige.
What did you have problems with?

I am just going to play until 1900 and then wait for more responses about a Great War. Also, as I said earlier, there is a problem with disarmed enforcing when the country is still in a war, and the treaty event at the end of a great war checks if a country is disarmed to fire. So, I will play until 1900, then see what happens, I think I can just add wargoals myself, so a country is practically dismantled. Here is the state of taxes in 1897.

taxesfeb26.png

I really hope we invent guards soon, we need to build up our military and organize it in our colonies before a war starts. So, lets begin.
On April 13 we get a letter campaign event. I think these events should only be after you have social science. They don’t have any penalties, so there is no incentive to research it, and the events are just annoying. I choose the second option, as it actually makes the people more liberal, not just the upper house.

taxesfeb26.png

More reactionaries, this time on the Faroe Islands, which I have not bothered to retake yet.
On May 25 we finish our research. Next up is Modern Central Banking system, since it helps us earn more money, so we can lower our taxes. We definitely need a bigger reserve for the war, since I want to give subsidies to my allies also. Right now we have 367k, but I want at least 10 million.

may25reserach.png

Oh, and after multiple tries by different countries the Ottoman Empire finally manages to succeed in freeing Sudan in Egypt. Their flag is really cool. Egypt is now split into three parts, one by the suez canal which Britain owns, and another by Sudan. And those are angry rioters occupying Egypt. The wars going on now are: (pic below sudan one)

may25sudan.png

warsmayy25.png

Also, America is trying to annex ethiopia.
And Spain was added to Frances sphere while they were still in mine, And I just removed them from Frances, but supposably they arent in mine, so I'll just have to add them again. I am also influencing the Ottomans. Africa is finally colonized, it took 17 years. Here is a picture of North Africa, split between me, America, and the ottomans, with France having a small part. In south Africa, I have Somalia area, then the ottomans have some, America, Britain, Portugal, and I have Zulu. I wanted to have consolidated holdings, since in other games I have had vast holdings that I couldn’t turn into states, and had barely any soldiers.

On October 14 Germany annexed Bavaria peacefully, since Bavaria was in their sphere. They were also both communist. Germany is #1 in rankings and I don’t think anything but a very big coalition cam beat them since they have such a large mobilization pool. The great war mod increases you mobilization pool also. In my game as Germany I was able to mobilize 1000 brigades in 1920. A picture of Europe with the new developments.

europe1897.png

By flame7926 at 2011-06-04

On November 6 we increase the opinion of us to cordial in the ottoman empire. Russia is the only other one influencing them. Tibet makes peace with Xibei San Ma. It looks really strange, China is still swamped with angry rioters. Something else I've noticed is that Manchukuo and Scandinavia have the exact same color.

chinatibetandxibeisanma.png

By flame7926 at 2011-06-04

January 1st 1898. We get gas defence capability, which is helpful in itself, and also helps invent guards. We also get a new upper house. Again, the percentage changes are from events. I think conservatives are gaining, which is annoying, and happened in my Germany game too. While every other country was turning to other forms of government, while britians population was half facist, mine was about 70% conservative. I had passed all reforms, and during wars militancy just kept climbing. I just noticed this is the first time facism has been there.

upperhouse1898.png

Italy annexed Egypt. I didn’t even know that was what there war was for and didn’t see any Italian occupations either. Well now there are three pieces of italian Egypt. In PDM, after some research you can annex african uncivs. That is why they could do all of Egypt at once. Britain built the suez canal early, and egypt must not have been in their sphere for very long, because in 180 they werent in a sphere. I don’t think the panama canal has been built yet. Italy looks the same color as Yemen.

italianegypt.png

By flame7926 at 2011-06-04

On March 30 we increase our opinion in Ottoman Empire to friendly. Also, we destroy the rebels on Faroe Islands. Look at our population. It has grown by 2 million since 1890, with only small parts of Africa added to our territory. We also discover Rubber plants, which I think is used in cars.

population1898.png

By flame7926 at 2011-06-04
The Ottomans declare war on Greece, my ally. Probably because of this, they call their allies, Britain and the USA. I decline Greece's plea for help. On may 20 we win the occupation of the Faroe Islands, we are officially rebel free. On June 2 we discover the light bulb, activating electric gear factories.
I decide to expand the forts along the Russian border, in all likelyhood we will be at war with them, so it will let my troops defend better. Also, the election is starting.

Italy declares war on Austria. Both of them are great powers, and my allies, so I am called by both sides. I would rather have Italy on my side, since I like italy, and they are just awesome. Also, I united Italy, so it would be cruel to leave them to themselves. The date is July 28, 1898. Italy has 79 normal brigades, while Austria has 246 mobilized. Italy hasnt mobilized yet. I think I shall join the war on Italy's side, and send troops down. Time for some action. I would have 132 brigades if I mobilized, but I wont, I will just count on my tech advantage. I'm going to wait for Italy to mobilize before joining. So, a war in the next update, but not a great war, still it is a war. Lightest blue is countries on my side in the war.

war1898.png

Italian Communists break out, and since you auto decline invitations after a month, and they were sent on the 27 or 28, I accept Italy's. The date is August 25, 1898. Will this war lead our country to great victory and honor, or defeat and a broken economy?

So, our great country is at war. Our military is a meager 32 brigades, only half of Italy’s standing army. So, we mobilize the poor. Every man with a lesser income is called upon to serve his country and defeat the Austrian menace, which as been oppressing the Italians in some of their western regions for far too long. The Italian state issued a formal declaration of war on July 27, and promptly called their allies, Belgium and Spain, into the fight. Russia, Austria's only ally, declined, citing their fear of another conflict with Scandinavia, and their military still recovering from the shocking rebellion that left one of the most authoritarian monarchs of Europe little more than a figurehead. Our King was already that, an inspiration to the people, but little else.
Twenty-one of our brigades, each comprising of 3000 brave young men each, sat waiting in Stockholm. They would be marched through Germany, who was unofficially supporting us in the war. We had been allies with Germany since the very beginning, two great northern powers. Though Germany backed Austria to avoid her being torn apart by Italy in the early part of the decade, they now stood by. This stems from the German aid to Austria after their being damaged from wars. The Hapsburgs were very thankful for the aid, and pledged to support Germany in any future wars. But, some Anarco-Liberal members of the aristocracy seized power, and the Emperor was forced to go into exile. The new leader of the country disliked the Germans immensely, and hated them for usurping the leadership of the German people. Germany still would have been willing to help except for Austria's unprovoked attack on the nation of Poland, who had revolted against Russia. Austria took a territory for which they had no claim to, thus effectively negating any alliances and pacts with the Kaiser. So, the situation is essentially that Germany has withdrawn their support from Austria, so Italy is free to take what they want.
The military command gathered for a meeting, but they would have to wait to decide the deployment of troops until the location of mobilized troops was fully known. Also, Italy's final brigade count wasn’t know either, as they hadn’t seen fit to mobilize their poor yet. This may have been because of a recent jacobin uprising, the numbers were small and easily crushed, but if the ordinary men were asked to throw their lives away then a larger revolt might occur.

back to normal writing

So, here is where the mobilized troops came. This is eleven percent of our poor population. In most cites, around 21,000 men showed up.

mobilizedforces.png

Italy has already been involved in a small battle which they won, but that is because Austria has not concentrated their troops, they were spread out occupying northern Italy. Here is the situation in Italy currently. I hope Italy doesn’t peace out before our troops arrive. This was near the end of August.
troopsitalyaug.png

By the of September, Spanish troops are arriving at the scene. Belgian troops are also there. The warscore is at 1% by the end of September. The Spaniards keep on coming. They have 146 brigades overall. Our troops arent yet to the border. Taxes are raised to pay for the troops supplies. Poor taxes are raised to 20, and the stockpile is raised to full, while social spending is also. This is the situation at the end of November. It was worse before the spanish troops arrived.
nov6.png

On november 30, our troops arrive and set up their positions on the side of the border. Here is their placement. All the armies have between 48,000 and 63,000 soldiers. Two armies will go reinforce the Italians at the battle of Klagenfurt, while another two will go help the Spainish at Trent. The rest of the armies will occupy Austrian land. Here are the initial movements. The two armies on the Eastern Front are going to take out vital Austrian industries. From there they shall move on to the capital, bypassing the border forts.
westernfrontdec3.png

easternfront.png

On the 8th, the Spanish loose the battle of Trent and are forced to retreat, therefore our troops heading there are told to take up defensive positions outside the city. The Austrians left over from the battle split their forces, leaving some in Trent, and sending some to Trevisto, where their troops there are hopelessly outnumbered. Here is the battle in Klagenfurt currently. We sent both of our redirected divisions to Trevisto.
klagenfurtdec12.png

Dec 12 A day before they were supposed to arrive, the Austrians called off their attack in light of Spanish reinforcements. We did too. Since the Austrians wont move, we decide to take the fight to them. From the beginning we are hopelessly outnumbered, 208k to 83k.
trentdec17.png

Our whole navy except for the transports is sent to blockade the Dalmatian coast. The end of the year is upon us. In the 15 days of battle in Trent we have already taken 20000 casualties, and we will need the troops occupying Innsbruck to come and reinforce. The Spanish have reinforced our position in the battle of Klagenfurt. Here is the unfortunate results of the election, and the new upper house. Also how the current situation in the war is.

On January 7 we win the occupations of Brno and Prague. We move on to Vienna and Bratislava. Since the warscore is at 28 we decide to add a wargoal before peace is made. We add acquire Croatia, because a naval base in that area would be helpful. Our troops finally gain control on Innsbruck on the 11, and we move them to Trent to help.

The day after that, the Ottoman Empire is added to our sphere. We send a call to them to help, but they cant join, since they have a truce. We also enact the balfour declaration since there is no reason not to.
Jan 26. Crap!! big reactionary rebellion, since I switched parties after the election and made militancy go up. Our transports are immediately dispatched south to pick up an army to deal with the rebels. On February 1st we finished Modern Central Banking System, and enacted the decision that goes along with it, National Banking Act. Next we do iron railroad. On February 10th we finish the occupation of Bratislava and move on to Sopron. In the battle in Trent we are loosing 1000 men a day. We win the occupation of Vienna, and send them to Trent to help. Here is an update on the warscore and our personal warscore.

On March 20 we finish occupying Sopron. We send those troops to Italy to go back home and clear up rebels. We get lavish exhibition and national conference, one gives you 100 prestige, and the other gives you 10000 research points. That instantly finishes the research. Next we choose Naval Decision Making. The number of troops in the battle at Trent are 83k for us, and 120k for them. Two more wargoals are added, though not by us, Slovenia gets slovenia, and Spain wants central hungary???
Our troops to clear up the rebels are sent home. Here is the situation of the war on July 2.

As you can see, more jacobins rose up in Italy. On July 25, 1899 the Battle of Klagenfurt is over. The total casualties for both sides are around four-hundred and fifty thousand, 450,000. Our troops are sent to Trent to make sure another resounding victory happens there. Joint forces from italy, scandinavia, and spain led to the victory. Only 40000 of our troops are left, but it should be enough to turn the tide in Trent.

Now italy wants something else, Karnten Steiermark. On August 25 the Battle of Trent is over, with about 350,000 casualties. Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of this one. It was +19 warscore. We also finish naval decision making. Now we select naval plans. Here is what the war looks like now, on August 30.

After Trent we sent our troops to chase down theirs. This battle is the result. We continue chasing them down. We send our other troops to go help occupy.

So, the war is almost over, all that remains is more occupation, and what the peace deal comes out to be. We are also officially # 1 in prestige. The war has been going on for a year now.

I hope more people start reading this, or at least replying, its helpful to get feedback, it feels like I'm writing a one sided conversation...

i don't quite understand the support of italy over the austrians... though i do get you seemed to be roleplaying a bit. but from a power politics viewpoint seems like you could have benefited from supporting the austrians, and having them as part of your power block heading into a great war.

the polish situation is unfortunate... very ugly borders. perhaps austria was just trying to remove that blight from the map?

please do keep going, i find it all interesting at least.

I remember in my 1.2 scandiinavia pdm game i conquered korea and japan and used those troops to put me on par with the continental powers from a brigade count standpointm, b/c obviously scandinavia faces population constraints the other powers do not. how's your military in asia?

Awesome AAR so far. Is Austria going to be divided up among the various superpowers?

Yeah, its mostly roleplaying, and my allies could beat the rest of the world combined probably. I could take out most of Russia by myself unless they got way better army techs since last time, and Germany would pound through France, UK wouldnt do anything. Im trying to restructure the alliance.

Poland is stuck in two parts, one is in Russia and one is between Austria, Belarus and Germany, so nobody can get them both.

I will keep going, there will be an update tomorrow, there wasnt one today because I was waiting for the next version of the Great War mod, to fix the not disarming thing.

I only have Korea, and all I can get from there is a few Irregular brigades, my total population is 10 million, about even with the ottomans, but 5 million of that is in Korea. I havent checked the amount of soldiers there in a while though, as I am waiting for guards to begin building more troops.

Thanks, Austria wont be dismantled unless Italy waits to end the war until I can research mass politics, which would be at least a year, and seeing how the war is going that isn't going to happen. But, I think all the wargoals added currently are going to be accepted, unless since Italy's the war leader they don't do my or Spain's goal. I really have no idea why Spain wants Central Hungary, its ridiculous. Currently I think there are 4 wargoals, though I may be wrong. I havent played any longer than what I have written.
