I hope upgrades change the visual style of the rackets, so better rackets look fancier while worse rackets look more run down. Too many games focus on slapping numbers onto the screen but not giving you visual ambience and indicators!

I checked the game just now to confirm that there are improved racket interiors in the game. There are and an American flag appears on the wall in the speakeasy upgrade. Don't worry I counted the stars so you don't have to. :)

I love that the cheapest grade of alcohol is called "Swill".
Also, will it be possible to "juice up" bad alcohol with addatives to move more of it, at the cost of potentially poisoning people or lossing business if someone finds out?

I don't want to ruin future developer diaries, so for the eternal question of is alcohol always what it says it is just keep an eye out.

Why hotels don't generate any income at all? I mean, it's obvious they probably shouldn't make as much money as the illegal businesses, but it's not a bit extreme that they don't make any profit at all?

Because right now we want the focus of the game to be about building a crime empire, so we have no legitimate sources of income in the game. This is not something that is cast in stone and who knows where the game will go in the future.
